  1. I did...I got put on medical hold, which took a couple of week to rectify...I go for final processing next week followed by training sometime in February.
  2. Well, if you think about it, there were approximately 3,000 people for just one session. There were a total of 4 sessions in one school (12,000 people) and another 4 sessions in another school (another 12,000 people). Therefore, if I had to take a guess, I would say 24,000 people applied for the exam. Now, not everyone is going to pass the exam, nor the BOSS exam. Therefore, that 24,000 number can easily be reduced to 18,000 people (if 75% of the people pass both exams). As far as going through all of these applicants, if NYC Transit goes through 200 people a month, that's 2,400 people a year. And if they decide to extend the list for 5 years (compared to the normal 4), they will go through 12,000 people. Unfortunately, with exam 2613, out of 36,000 people that took the exam, about 10% passed (3,621). Therefore, if NYC Transit goes through 200 people a month, this list will be finished in a year and a half from when they first started calling people (which was November of 2013). That's why the first post says: "Who would have thought another TA exam so soon."
  3. I disagree...for 2613, I heard about 36,000 people took the exam and only 3,621 people passed. And, as previously stated, not everyone makes it based on criminal record, they don't have the CDL permit, they fail medical, etc. In addition, from reading the 2613 thread (http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/34980-bus-operator-exam-2613-questions/) they are hiring about 200 people a month, so the list should be finished within a year and a half from when they first started calling, which was November of 2013. Once that happens, then they'll move on to 4600.
  4. When the testing was done under DCAS (Department of Citywide Administrative Services), this is correct. However, this was NOT the case for exam 2613. After taking the test in January of 2013, we took the BOSS in June 2013. Then the list came out on October 30th, 2013 and they called the first group of people a couple of weeks after that.
  5. Folks, you have to remember that the still has to finish the 2613 Bus Operator list, which only has 3,621 names. Last time I checked that thread (http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/34980-bus-operator-exam-2613-questions/) someone with a list # of 385 passed medical, got hired the same day and is going to training this Monday (if I recall correctly). Therefore, they still have 3,200 people to go through. And if they go through 300 people per month (since some people change their minds about the position and/or fail medical, training, etc.) you guys have to wait at least another 10 months before they start calling. This is probably why the list will not come out for another 9 months. Therefore, I guess this is a bad thing cause all of you have to wait, but we have to be fair for those who took exam 2613 and passed in January of 2013.
  6. Thanks! At least two other members (whom I am keeping anonymous) have sent me a private message asking me how to calculate their score. For those that are embarrassed to ask: The easiest way to do this (without 1.66 or 1.67) is to divide the number of questions you got correct by 60. Therefore, a few examples are: -If you got 30 questions correct, then on your calculator do 30 divided by 60 and you will get 0.5. Turn this decimal into a percent and you get 50% (you failed). -If you got 45 questions correct, you do 45 divided by 60 and you will get 0.75. Turn this decimal into a percent and you will get 75%. -If you got 54 questions correct, then do 54 divided by 60 and you will get 0.9. Turn this into a percent - 90%.
  7. I got 4 wrong, so 93.33 for me...in addition, I also took exam 2613, and I am going for final processing on Monday, so I guess I am ahead of all of you !!
  8. I just sent an email to examsunit@nyct.com asking them what the story is. Maybe if more people do the same, they will put the results online faster...
  9. That's good, however I would not get it that fast. The reason why is because once you get it, you only have two years to get the licence. After 2 years, if you still want the permit, you have to take the tests all over again. Keep in mind that NYC Transit still has to finish with exam 2613 as well...
  10. Mastap is correct. Even though we took the exam for this last March, today I called DCAS (212-669-1357) to try to obtain a list number, since this worked for the B/O exam 2613. After I entered my information, there was no record of my social security #. Therefore, I have a feeling that they don't want to release the list just yet. In addition, when I was at 180 Livingston Street on December 19th for the second drug test (for B/O 2613), I was talking to the person next to me. He mentioned that he took the previous track worker exam (http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcas/downloads/pdf/noes/trackworker.pdf) and that there were no more track worker positions open/available. Therefore, the agency offered him a "cleaner" position which he was going for. In my opinion, based on this information, although the agency has a 'list' established, it will not be produced until there are track worker positions open/available.
  11. Service Change Posted: 12/29/2013 10:03PM Due to a signal problem at 65 St, northbound and train service running local from Queens Plz to Forest Hills- 71 Av. Allow additional travel time. Also, FYI, the Q17 is the bus that runs between Jamaica/179th Street and Main Street .
  12. I believe 75 questions if I recall correctly.
  13. I'm not spilling all of the beans...you're going to have to wait and find out!!
  14. The BOSS (Bus Operator Selective Survey) is a mini-psychological exam that the MTA gives in an effort to weed out some of the people they are not looking for. Another description is "The BOSS (Bus Operator Selection Survey) is a personality test to see what kind of person you are when it comes to operating a transit bus; your interactions with the passengers, coworkers, and bosses; and your tardiness at the job. It contains 75 multiple-choice questions and you have 75 minutes to complete it. If you really want to be a bus operator, DO NOT mark down the truth answers! Mark down the "what they want to hear" answers. Some of the questions will be repeated 2-3 times, but in different wording, so your answers must be consistent," according to SubChat. One sample question which is on this exam is: "I never feel in a rush, even under pressure." a) Strongly Agree b) Agree c) Neutral d) Disagree e) Strongly Disagree The answer they are looking for is 'B' cause as a Bus Operator, you are on a timetable, and especially in inclement weather, safety is a priority, especially when you have customers. There is a class that does prepare you for the BOSS exam in which they practically give you the questions and answers that are going to be on it. As we get closer to the exam date, I'll post more information about it.
  15. It depends primarily on two things - how many people pass exam 4600 (and the BOSS exam that goes along with it) and how many Bus Operators the agency needs. Let's say for example that the TA continues to hire 200 Bus Operators per month and at least 9,600 people passed both exams (exam 4600 & the BOSS). Then, the list should be good for 4 years, since 9,600 (total # of people) divided by 200 (# of people hired per month) equals 48 (48 months, or 4 years) to finish the entire 4600 list. If at least 12,000 people pass 4600 & the BOSS, then the list will be good for 5 years, if they decide to extend it another year. Now, if only 4,800 people passed the exam, and the TA still hires 200 Bus Operators per month, then 4,800 divided by 200 equals 24 months, or 2 years. Therefore, in this case, another exam would have to be given in late 2015 or early 2016.
  16. It's okay...if BOSS was given at 180 Livingston Street, then NYC DCAS was doing the Bus Operator exams at the time (http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcas/downloads/pdf/noes/200808006000.pdf).
  17. Things were probably different when Bus Operator Olegkha was hired. Mind I ask, where did you take your BOSS exam? At 180 Livingston Street during the week or at a high school on the weekend? What happened for exam 2613 is they gave the initial civil service exam back in January. Next since NYC Transit does the exams, they gave the BOSS on a weekend in late June during Regents week, before the schools officially closed for summer vacation. If you successfully passed both of these exams, you were then mailed a letter with your score from the civil service examination and your list number in Mid-November. According to the instructors from Empire Exam Services, when DCAS was conducting the initial civil service examination, they would only give the civil service examination. As a result, a list came out. Then, when people started getting called by NYC Transit, the first thing they would do at 180 Livingston Street is take the BOSS exam before beginning the hiring process, which includes the drug test. That's why Olegkha probably said "As they will need people, they will offer BOSS based on the list number."
  18. You're welcome. This means that for exam 4600 they will start calling people from this exam once they are finished from 2613, which should be April of 2015 (my educated guess).
  19. The exam number is 2613 (http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/34980-bus-operator-exam-2613-questions/), NOT 2316. By now, everyone who passed the initial civil service examination and the BOSS exam should have received a "Notice of Result" letter in the mail with their list number and final score from the civil service examination. It is important to note that the list only contains 3,621 people, and if NYC Transit hires close to 200 Bus Operators a month, the list will be finished in 18 months (1 & 1/2 years). Again, refer to http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/34980-bus-operator-exam-2613-questions/ for more details/questions, etc.
  20. My educated guess is that it would be something similar to those who are being called for Bus Operator - except you do not need the CDL licence. Refer to http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/34980-bus-operator-exam-2613-questions/ for more information.
  21. I thought I just sent you a private message about this. Anyways, according to the "Candidate's Personal Record of Answers", the proposed answer key will be available on January 23rd, 2014 either at 180 Livingston Street (Lobby) or by going to http://www.mta.info/nyct/hr/proposed_answerkey.htm. Keep in mind that they had a very late make-up for exam 2613, which delayed NYC Transit releasing the proposed answer key for that exam. Hopefully that will not be the case here.
  22. I also just got back from taking the 4600 afternoon session with a Queens bus map. It was mostly reading comprehension with a few questions on a bus timetable and a few questions based on the Queens map.
