  1. I did not fail the BOSS test...I corrected my post to what it should have said...sorry.
  2. Yes you have to take it again. So far I took it twice, once for 2613 (not successful) and for 3101...as far as I recall, its the same test.
  3. http://web.mta.info/nyct/hr/appexam.htm (scroll towards the bottom)
  4. Now on the mta.info website, this upcoming June is filing for "Stock Worker" under MaBSTOA. Do I have to wait 5 years for that too, or just the Bus Operator positions? I know someone at Zerega said that this has nothing to do with the track worker test I took, which is good...
  5. I agree, however I finished with my college studies on December 18th, took the second drug test the next day and got called for medical on December 31st, so in a way I didn't have time...I also didn't know that it was going to take close to a month to get the medical hold cleared since I couldn't get an appointment ASAP with the neurologist... Oh well. I'm just glad I took the other exams (3600 for trackworker, 3101 for OA and 4600 for TA)...we shall see what happens.
  6. According to post # 3141 (http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/34980-bus-operator-exam-2613-questions/page-315), somewhere in the 500's. I called DCAS (212-669-1357) for curiosity and they said they are in the 550's, however I don't know how accurate that is.
  7. Part 1 - thanks. It hurt, but I learned my lesson the hard way. Part 2 - Click on my name "YoungNYCSubwayFan" (its in white above the Corona Maintenance Shop picture). This will bring you to my profile. On the right, click on "send me a message." Type your message and hit 'send.' Simple as that. Part 3 - no clue.
  8. Send me a PM if you want to know...not willing to discuss this in a public forum, especially in detail Long story short...on day 9, came very close to hitting a construction cone with the back of the bus and the pressure was just on for day 10 with 2 superintendents watching me. It was a lot easier to qualify on day 9 looking back...fortunately I took exam 4600 (TA), 3101 (OA), 3600 (TA - trackworker) and I plan on filing for the 2 exams offered this June, so we shall wait and see.
  9. Unfortunately this is true...refer to the 2613 thread, everything is posted there.
  10. I have taken BOSS and not received a rejected letter. My list # is 41*, and I thought I heard or read that they started calling the first 400 people already. Time should tell folks...
  11. You're welcome. Glad to help in any way I can.
  12. If you pass the vision, you're good. If you fail the vision because you need glasses, they will probably put you on medical hold until you come back with a pair to resolve the issue. The sooner you come back, the better.
  13. What they made me do for the medical was a EKG, hearing, vision, B/P, weight. They took the blood pressure from both arms, they recorded both readings and they went with the better reading. Next, the doctor had me change into a gown so she could check my breathing, in addition to simple exercises, like squatting, tilting your head, etc.
  14. The key word is approximately, since most of the high schools will be closed and unavailable 9 months after the initial civil service exam, which was given in December/2013. Therefore, with this information, expect it to be given in September, once the high schools are available for use.
  15. Well, from the experience I've gone through with exam 2613, they gave the exam in January of 2013, and I think they ideally wanted to give the BOSS exam 6 months later, especially since they were finishing up calling people from exam 8006 (http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcas/downloads/pdf/noes/200808006000.pdf). However, in 6 months, a good majority of the high schools were going to be unavailable due to summer vacation. Therefore, the TA gave the BOSS exam in June of 2013, 5 months later, right before the schools closed for the summer. Keep in mind that they started hiring from this list 5 months after that in November, so they were anxious to do it. As far as exam 4600 is concerned, my educated guess will be 6 to 9 months, so if they do not administer the BOSS exam before this current 2013 to 2014 school year comes to a close in June, my educated guess is that the exam will be administered in September or shortly after. Again, this is NOT official, just my educated guess. Keep in mind that they are still working with exam 2613, and out of the 3,621 people that took the exam in January of 2013 and successfully passed (out of 36,000 people), not even half of those people have been called yet as of today. As far as them getting back to us if we are "nuts or not," similar to the exam this past December, we have to bubble our answers in and it will be graded by NYC Transit, probably and most likely at 180 Livingston Street. If you get a notice in the mail saying that you failed the BOSS exam, then that's not good. If you get a notice in the mail with your final score and list number, then that means you successfully passed the exam.
  16. Thanks! That's not a problem, as long as someone else (not mentioning any names) will not only stop being our 'rep', but also stop telling us that we all must get our CDL Licenses, which is not true. That's all...
  17. Yes, please. The facts have been presented, we have expressed our opinions several times and that's that. List #? I have it, 27*. And the MTA is pushing me back 5 more months? I don't know about you Mr. White, who scored a 78% on 2613, but I'm going to Zerega within the next couple of weeks for B/O Training!!! And the MTA pushed me back 5 more months? Wow... And, Mr. White, are you going to Zerega anytime soon for B/O Training? Are you? Well, they started calling candidates from exam 2613 in November of 2013. If they go through 200 people a month (estimate), and there are 3,621 names on that list, it will take them approximately 18 months, which means that the earliest they will call people from the 4600 list will probably be June of 2015. How can they if I have already been through final processing and going to 750 Zerega Avenue within the next couple of weeks for training?
  18. Yeah! I scored higher than you!! Which means a lower list # for 4600 compared to me!! And if you folks want to get your CDL license, you have plenty of time because everyone that took Exam 2613, and passed the civil service exam and the BOSS exam including myself, have priority over all of you. In addition, before you folks make your final decision, I would encourage you to re-read posts # 895 and 896 on page 90. (Hint: One of those posts was written by someone who works for another Transit company in Florida, compared to someone else who probably has very little experience in a Transit company to begin with asking all of you to "Please get your CDL licenses.") The last thing I have to say is, for all of you who took the exam and are hoping to get a position, consider yourselves lucky. The main reason why is because approximately 10% of the people who took exam 2613 passed, which is 3,621 people. If Human Resources goes through 200 people a month (estimate), the 2613 list will be finished in 18 months. Now if 25% of the people that took exam 2613 passed, that number would be around 9,000. If that was the case, then NYC Transit would not have given this exam to begin with so soon after exam 2613 was given. Is this at all relevant to the topic?
  19. The TA physician thought I had some muscle spasm in my left leg. I went to a neurologist, and it turned out that it was negative. That's all. What did not help at all was that it was very hard for me to get an ASAP appointment with the neurologist, since he has a lot of other patients. That's why it took so long.
  20. You take all of the exams at DMV, one right after each other the same day.
  21. Thanks...I've read the 2613 thread several times, spoke with current Bus Operators and I agree 100%...no driving school necessary.
  22. Thank you! I will be posting my progress in the 2613 thread in case anyone is interested...
