  1. Even though Transdev has had a financial loss last year, they might contribute to such a thing. I m not sure how this has transformed into BRT but I never spoke about BRT. Simply adding a bus lane *here and there* and optionally some signal priority lights doesn t make it BRT. But yeah, fixing the lights will also help. (also: I wasn't talking about the n6 alone with my idea, I'm sure a few other routes such as the n22 would also benefit from having a bus lane on crowded intersections)
  2. What do you guys think about adding a few bus lanes here and there? A lot of roads have lots of room beside them, so a small bus lane could be added. It would help esp. on busy lanes like Old Country Rd. And on a few others in rush hour.
  3. NICEALERT We are experiencing 15+ minute delays due to icy road conditions. -- The n4, n19, n36, n40/41, n43, n62 in particular. -- Sent from my TouchPad using Communities
  4. Yeah, some security persons take it a bit too far. I mean, it's a bit unrelated, but check out this one where they weren't even filming on transit property but on the public road and the cop starts to get all willy-nilly about it: That says a lot about security and cops these days...

  6. HTC doesn't look so bad to me on video. But thay may be different in real life. It also differs per person. I mean, what's looking "shady" for one person may look "okay" to another. Based on video footage, I can think of a couple of transit centers that are worse at night then HTC. But again: it differs per person.
  7. I can't believe has cut back on security. I thought was kicking ass??? Did post that in the LIB days? Just wondering.
  8. Ah well, as long as the paper's readable, right? (not too mention the fact that a lot of people use the internet or smartphone apps anyway these days)
  9. Oh, I'm sorry, I was mistaken those with the new Dodge Able-Ride vehicles Maybe they went up to meet someone from SCT there? It's likely they may share some experiences every once in a while as independed operators, esp. because SCT has a limited budget and NICE knows how to deal with that
  10. But it's okay if *you* post the same sarcastic sentence? (http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/43845-on-board-survey/?do=findComment&comment=742222) Wow, talk about "derogatory"... Exactly. I didn't ride it but I saw various videos of the n22L and it seem to do okay. It was no n6, but it did okay at what it was supposed to do. Yeah, that's one thing they actually improved upon
  11. Yup, they chopped three AM trips. Hell is gonna break loose now.
  12. @Brett: Thanks for repeating what was already posted on their website.
  13. Since the n6X has had some debates over time: I see on NICE's website that there's a stop change: California St will be dropped and Oak St is its replacement. Is that gonna be okay? The n24 extended to Hicksville on weekends is a nice addition.
  14. NICE finally hinted something about the new schedules on their Twitter: #NICEbus SCHEDULE CHANGE effective Jan. 12. Find paper schedules on buses & at major depots, or check back soon on nicebus.com 3:25pm · 7 Jan 14 · web
  15. I think the operator just put the n6L on for the lolz, you know, just for the photo. Tape doesn't work indeed, but I'm not questioning bobtehpanda's knowledge either because I do learn from him in other sections of the forums so maybe there was indeed tape on it. It's cheap so that may explain the reason why.
  16. Not sure how I feel about seniors not paying peak fares, but I do agree that disabled persons shouldn't have to pay peak fares.
  17. Yeah, my optimism has wore off a bit now that they still haven t posted them...
  18. Not too get too off-topic but I don't know even one railroad company in the Western hemisphere that doesn't charge peak fares. Not that that makes LIRR look good but hey, it's quite common overall to charge peak fares. Btw: NICE is getting new buses, not only to replace the old fleet but also to expand a little bit on it so that may lead to extra runs in the future.
  19. My definition of crush loaded is "beyond SRO". Or in other words: "when even standing becomes a problem because of a lack of space; getting sandwiched". SRO is what I call a bus with all seats taken (and optionally some standees as well). Exactly, thank you.
  20. I said every bus till 1:30 AM because someone else stated even that bus is crush loaded. Yeah right. So many buses crush loaded... SRO I do believe but crush loaded even until night time, nah. -- Sent from my TouchPad using Communities
  21. Wow, NICE might as well add 24 hour service with buses running every 5 minutes by now. I mean, first it was 1:30 AM n6 that was crush loaded, then the 9:05 PM and 9:20 PM were said to be crush loaded and now even the 11:00 PM n6? Do people even sleep? I'm sorry, I know buses can get crowded in the evening (that's also the case in my city) but I'll bet $50 dollars that some people are exaggerating just a bit because I won't believe *every* evening bus up till 1:30 AM (!) is CRUSH loaded.
  22. Just because VZW has discounts on their contract, doesn't mean Sprint needs to do that too... If NICE thinks it's okay this way, then they're probably right. Like Burrstone said: there's chance they'll just tear up the roads. (and no: I'm not following lead, I actually did see photo and video footage of yesterday's snow in Nassau/NICE routes)
