  1. I don't actually know, I assume they work one line and one line only until the next pick or so.
  2. Yep, that was a nice T/O. I've had this T/O on the twice with R188s and he would haul ass into stations, go halfway without braking and then just start braking like hell (OpenBVE style) to a stop.... I loved his rides. Also had one with different T/O who did the same, hauled ASS!
  3. Should have went on 7241, I'd like to know if they put a subway map in that car yet.... Last time I checked, there was no subway map and not even a plastic covering on it.
  4. From what I initially heard, the R68 and R32 will remain until December (don't quote me on that).
  5. The lighting reminds me of a bar.... how it's in differnet colors and such.
  6. 7888-7898 was my "stalker" in the first month of service, I've ridden it like what, 5 times in it's first month (pre-advertisements, ever since it got ads I've never rode it again). But now, it seems like every set's my stalker.... 85% of my train rides now are R188... (not even trying)
  7. EDIT: By the way, the vandalism set (7833-7843) now has a new case, 7835 has a scratchitti'd window. These things are getting beat up FAST! 7844-7854 has brakes that don't sound normal, rather a bit intense/screechy. Actually, when 7860-7870 was still new, I got to ride on 7865 and 7866 by luck twice. On one of the G/O's where trains terminated at 74th Street, I got off 7857 for the next train going to Queensboro, and got on 7867. Then I kept seeing that set for a few more times, until I didn't see it much again. My goal is to be on every end of a set, so here's my progress: 7811/7821: Done 7822/7832: Done 7833/7843: Still need to be on 7833 7844/7854: Done 7866-7870, 7860-7865: Done 7855-7859, 7871-7876: Still need to be on 7855, although I have been on 7857. 7877-7887: Have never been on it once, although I did have an opportunity to get on 7877. 7888-7898: Done. 7221-7230: Still need to be on 7221. 7231-7240: Haven't been on it yet, though I did have an opportunity to get on 7240. 7241-7250: Still need to be on 7250. Not to sound too much like a foamer though! Going back to 7860-7870, I've been on that set 3 different times and I have seen it many more times.. though it was said that 7868 had stuck brakes/dead motors making it screechy. I heard it myself seeing it once, but I'm not sure if it's OOS due to that reason.
  8. So, there's a lone R44 SIRT car (I think it was 397) sitting in CIY with doors open. What's with that thing?
  9. You're going to start to find that they are everywhere now.... especially during the weekends, last weekend I'm guessing that it was 50% R188 and 50% R62A. I've been catching R188's easily for the past few weeks, with the exception of one going via Flushing Express to Manhattan. On another note, does anyone have a clue as to what's with 7860-7870? I saw that set sitting in the yard on Saturday, and I haven't seen it in service for a while. It seems that the two mis-matched sets are seeing service the least, they're already running 7877-7887 pretty much daily (with the exception of maybe a day or two) and same case with 7888-7898.
  10. WTF? So we purchased two day passes ($9.95 + tax) for CitiBike, and it says it was $39.09. We docked the bike and got a new code at around every 30 minutes, and the person who was there to help w/ the bikes said "it won't matter if you're late a little." WTF?

Well did you all dock your bikes properly? Did you go over the time allotted? If not dispute the charge and you'll like be refunded the money on the card.

I went over the time once or twice by like a minute or two, but the CitiBike personnel who were at Lafayette & Spring Street told me that it's fine if you go over the time by a little.

lol... If that is true, then there's something very fishy...

  11. The one thing I love about R46.... They buck like crazy. Going thru the Cranberry Tunnels on the , I felt like I was riding a rollercoaster or something, it was shaky like hell and I actually liked it. A lot of the older SMEE's had that pre-retirement, but I'm glad I got that feel again from riding the slants through the tubes.
  12. I don't think so when it's at Kawasaki. I think it's just for the new cab and such. The CBTC gets installed by the CBTC contractor, right now the trains don't have CBTC yet except for 7211-7220.
  13. 7211-7220 has CBTC installed already, and was undergoing CBTC testing in the yard but I didn't see it the other day. 7221-7230 is probably the best condition conversion set out there,, at least on 7230 they fixed up some door stickers (the ones from the were distorted and ripped) and was cleaned up a bit. 7241 is absolute disgusting.... air bubbles in the floor, RUST, vandalism, brown dots on the cab door (wtf?)...... By the way, they do way more than add CBTC equipment/change strip maps. They have to rewire the cab and the cab area, do a lot of wiring....
  14. NO to 7300s! I rode 7321 yesterday and that one had brown stuff (rust?) on it's interior doors, and one of them was stuck as well..... that thing was vandalized and dirty as hell as well. Wouldn't like to ride those things on the ...
  15. I apologize.... but I'm not that experienced in bus terms, so what is LBSS and what does it do??
  16. Unfortunately, it's the fact that everyone in this generation doesn't care about their grammar on the internet. Some people, like me, do try to use correct grammar, instead of those who don't capitalize, don't use correct punctuation, and who we have no clue what they're trying to say. If you look at the people back then they sounded smart, way smarter than an average person today.....
  17. No more assumptions needed, NO BEDBUGS WERE FOUND! There's finally some relief when it comes to bedbugs on the subway: The 7 train has been determined to be bedbug-free after an investigation, the MTA said on Thursday. A straphanger told Business Insider he saw bedbugs "coming out from under the seat to feed on people's legs." MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz said in an email that the MTA followed up on the report and checked the train and found no evidence of bedbugs. Straphangers have been on edge since four N trains and a 5 train were fumigated after bedbugs were discovered in the cars earlier this month. This summer's mini-outbreak of bedbugs on the subway is not the first time the insects have been caught riding the rails. In 2008, bedbugs were reported in the benches at two subway stations, and in 2009, a bedbug was reported on the R train. Bedbugs are commonly found in beds, sofas and cushions, but they can also live in clothes. Meanwhile, an MTA cleaner told the Daily News that she had been infested with bedbugs from her locker near the Ditmars station. The MTA fumigated the location, but she said she "started scratching two days earlier." She said she asked the MTA to fumigate her home, but they do not fumigate private homes. An MTA spokesman confirmed on Thursday that they do not fumigate non-transit property, and said the MTA is continuing to do spot checks of crew rooms and other transit facilities and will fumigate if necessary. http://www.amny.com/transit/7-train-inspected-for-bedbugs-and-cleared-mta-says-1.9058509
  18. Not necessarily. You never know, maybe they came from a tourist, maybe they came from bums, maybe crews.....
  19. Then does it auto-adjust? Because well it gets louder sometimes and when it gets louder it gets cooler.... Same goes with SMEE....
  20. Other than A TON of vandalism, nothing else really to say...
  21. Two random things to say.... Haven't seen this in awhile - driving at Union Street waiting for the light at Northern Blvd, three buses were together (an OG sandwiched between two NG's, two Q28 and one Q13) playing follow the leader.... one after the other turning. One after the other they stopped, and left together, and eventually terminated together.... Another thing... "Rare sight" on the Q58 today, a very nice B/O let this woman running on, even after shutting the doors and was already waiting for the red light. He even kneeled the bus for her. This is "rare" because even on the Q28, if there's seats (there wasn't really any seats on that Q58 either) or if there isn't, there would be those people who run up to the bus and knock on the door, when it's already shut and waiting at the red light. 9 times out of 10 the B/O will just leave and not care. Not saying they have to open the doors, but it would be nice for them to do it.
