  1. Finally managed to get on 7857 and TAKE A SELFIE.

  2. Yup. The train turns thru the middle track at 69 street. When it was at 103 street, I'm not sure if there was passengers in it, though.
  3. This is just in today. I was fanning the , I did not ride it, but R188's 7888-7898 ARE NOW IN SERVICE! The interior has NO ADVERTISEMENTS, just subway maps. It's fresh. EDIT: Judging from what I shot of that train, I'm not quite sure actually..... Let's break down what I saw: The train at 103 Street, in the video I could not see if there were people in it or if doors were opening/closing. But, there were no testing papers on the windows. And, I cannot also distinguish if the signage was on. The train I saw when i was coming back was doing the usual. It was changing sides in the middle track at 69 street, still no papers on windows. So, I think this is actually a mystery. Maybe somebody can confirm this?
  4. You know what annoys me even more about the R142A conversions? They use the old, and dim lights of the R142A. I'm fine with that actually. But for them to cut a light, put the CBTC kit cabinet thing there, and then leave a portion of the original light, and install the new light in it. Therefore, it makes the light seem weird and uneven... You can see it in the beginning of this video, credits to Tech and Transit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwDAlso0I84
  5. If I'm not mistaken... I think the 68-68A set is the set on the ? Please by all means correct me if I'm wrong... But I'm pretty sure it is. Anyways, I have no clue how they would do that. Just like 142/142A and 160 Alstom/160 Siemens might seem impossible, both of those have been done before.
  6. That set was tested, but I am not quite sure whether it hit service or not. There are only two more to go into service: R188 7877-7887 and R188 7888-7898
  7. I managed to get one of the only R46 sets out yesterday... I was as some would say in "commuter mode" and not "railfan mode", although that was when I just left the R1 at Essex.
  8. You feel much more safe on an R160 than an R32.. And also much more comfortable. The job as a conductor on an R32 is also dangerous and stressful..
  9. R46's screw up the .. I waited 10 minutes to see two R160's on the opposite track pass, yet the doesn't come. Yet, when it comes, it's an R46 and it arrives the same time as the second R160 from the opposite side. The R160 is halfway gone from the station until the over loaded R46 finally budges....... On a side note: The this weekend: OBSERVATIONS R62A 2146 to 74 Street, behind is R188 7811 to Queensboro. Continues in this pattern, 62A to 74, 188 to Queensboro. R188 sets running were: 7811-7854 7230-7901-7240 It continued in that pattern, until my commute home around 6. It was R188 to Queensboro, until they changed it. I saw R62A 2146 to queensboro, and R188 7822-7832 terminate at 74th Street. That probably meant an R188 was delayed, and an R62A went first. So it completely changed it to R62A to Queensboro, R188 to 74th. At one point, after 74th Street, there were three R188's in a row. 7844-7854 (One I was on), 7822-7832, and then 7230-7901-7240. Then it was either an R188 or R62A (forgot), then followed by R62A 2146. The rest of the pattern... can't figure out.. Basically, by reduced service, it goes by the pattern Queensboro-74-Queensboro-74 and so on.... The train leaves 74th, goes on the middle track at 69, gets laid up, then goes back after a shot break (after the queensboro train passes).
  10. I think the is mostly, if not all R188 today. It's running to 74 on a weekend... Meaning that about 6-8 sets would be running. There is a big chance it is completely R188. When I went out to Flushing, I saw back to back R188's leave from Main Street (only 2), had to go after that.
  11. Oh and here's one that I edited a little... Stay tuned! Rest will be posted tomorrow!
  12. I saw a rollsign on R62A 2130... (11) Main Street- Flushing Queens 34 Street- Hudson Yards Manhattan. Total 'WTF'?
  13. Lol, it went BIE earlier today (I think on the first run) at 52 Street... Don't know what happened. I was told there was signal problems??
  14. Err, last minute question! Is the TOMC terminating at Willets Point or Flushing???
  15. If I'm going out on Sunday to catch the TOMC, for sure I'm aiming for that 3-in-one shot at Main Street. TOMC-R62A-R188. Will be epic!
  16. The redbirds are running on Sunday? Someone said they're running from 12 to 5 on Sunday in the photo thread featuring 9586/9587.
  17. One of the pictures of the Union Square Wreck that I haven't seen yet. Thought I'd share it with you guys. SOURCE: http://www.theatlanticcities.com/commute/2013/10/new-york-city-subway-operators-photography-club/7370/
  18. I thought the same once I saw those cabinet things (or whatever they're called) in the cab cars. I was told by a T/O that the CBTC is all in there.
  19. It came out on the weekend of January 18,19.
  20. I'll get the LED's done by tomorrow or friday. For now, here's the rollsign: If I remembered correctly, the bottom was a little cut off for the word "local". If not, I'll be more than happy to correct it.
  21. Sorry, I was rushing through this sign to kick it out earlier, so the centering might not be on point. But yea, heres your 11 frames This is a different glow from the last one, a brighter one. Enjoy your signs!
