  2. One more day, one more post! Boy o' boy! Three years of NYCTF. Never thought I would be here this long!

  3. I apologize for this, although I said it would be done by tomorrow I would have to delay that until the 30th. I had forgot that I needed to do some stuff tomorrow, sorry! I hope an extra day won't hurt. So I tried some stuff out, and I decided to make you TWO R62A signs, one with a glow effect and one without. NO GLOW: GLOW:
  4. Request accepted, will be done later today. ✔ Request accepted, will be done by tomorrow afternoon. ✔
  5. Alright guys. A little message. I am reaching my 3 year anniversary soon, an since I have been inactive for quite a long time, I decided to start sign making production for maybe a month or so, because at this time I am not as busy as I was before. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST A SIGN, REQUEST IT UNDER HERE. REQUESTS ON TOP WILL BE IGNORED (SORRY!). I will probably be doing this for the entire month of may and end it mid-June. I plan on doing it again mid-summer, though. Anyways, I'll start off with a new, up to date version of the R188 sign. SIGNS YOU MAY CHOOSE FROM: R188/R142A interior LED's R142 interior LED's R160 interior LED's R46 exterior LCD's Luminator Titan Bus Signs (NO SBS LIGHTS) R62/A NO LED rollsign R62A LED rollsign R68 rollsign R42 rollsign R40 rollsign Modern Station Signs Train number pads Anything else will not be accepted. Sorry! Enjoy requesting. A RETURN SIGN:
  6. Four more posts until my 2000th post, 5 more days until my 3 year anniversary. Thanks to every single one of the members on this site for being with me this whole three years! You guys are the nicest people I've known on the internet.

  7. The first converted set is 7211-7220/7899
  8. April 30th marks my three year anniversary!

  9. Thanks for 60 subs!

  10. Sometimes the announcements trigger before the station, but sometimes it triggers when in the station. I had an R188 yesterday slowly go into Woodside and like 5 meters before the train's in the station it stops, and the announcement triggers. Turns out there was a local straight infront, so we were delayed. But I was like WTF when it triggered before entering the station..
  11. Damn. That must have been 7821 coming back from Times Square the second time (after I got it).
  12. What time was it yesterday that your express got rerouted via local? I had an T/O yesterday with R188 7811-7821 and he was booking it hard.. He operated fast as hell and then braked pretty hard. It was a sick ride, better than any R62A ride I've been on. Plus, the R188's are still new. Just like the problems R62A's had when they were new, the R188's are going through very minor problems. Trains get taken OOS on a regular basis. Kawasaki seems to have a clean record, so I doubt the R188's have any major problems. What I've noticed is that they put R188's out in the AM rush, then take them OOS into the yard midday and usually leave about 1-2 in service (from 3-4).
  13. For sure I can tell you one thing: If the trains uncopuled in service, stuff would more MUCH more serious......
  14. This morning i got 7860-7870 seeing 7855-7859 and 7871-7876 + 7811-7821 as well. When coming back, I got 7811-7821 express and didn't see them though, still some in the yard. On another note, 7822-7832 hasn't ran in forever. BTW, as much as I like the R188's and all that I hate that the conductors feel they should spam the stupid announcements. Once I was going thru the Steinway Tunnel and the conductor spammed EVERY SINGLE ANNOUNCEMENT he could during that time period. Pissed me off hard. Also this morning I had a conductor play an announcement between every stop for the first few stops. I remember also having a conductor that would spam the "DO NOT HOLD DOORS" announcement if someone did it. Happened today as well.
  15. The R188s don't have to be run all the time. You see 7833-7843? Vandalism. If you want them to run all the time when they're new, they eventually won't be new.....
  16. Rode 7821 today... They gotta re-align those things that surround the interior LED's of 7821. It was out of alignment and blocked part of the sign, still legible though. Overall, that set pretty much has minimal vandalism and is still good as new. On another note, while waiting for it at Court Square, 7833-7843 passed on the other side. I was sitting straight infront of 7839, with sharpie all over that stainless steal next to the windows. Breaks my heart that these a**holes feel like they can vandalize sh*t like it ain't worth anything. EDIT: Out of curiosity, what happened on the R32 ? And if the TOMC runs tomorrow, the best picture one will take - express R188 in the middle of TOMC and an R62A, all three in one.
  17. Had an R62A on the yesterday with a howling motor.. Right when I stopped recording at 14 street it started to get so much louder... Should have recorded once more stop lol.
  18. It's true @4P3607, everytime I go to flushing I see an R188 heading in the tunnel. When I go ride it though, either I have to wait or just ride an R62A.
  19. Atleast they're making an effort to keep them "new".. The R62A's have a ton of vandalism that don't get cleaned. The R188 atleast they would clean them off. BTW, back in February I was riding the 7822 set, and saw that 7829 was filled with like table tops and crap that can't be described..
  20. Number? I remember last month that 7832 had some sharpie on its MTA Logo, but now its cleaned off. EDIT: And also I remember a few days before the 30- day acceptance test ended that 7818 had scratchiti on the doors..
  21. I remember my first ride on an R62A . 5:30 PM rush hour, from BB to 59 St. Took me 30 minutes, 1/4 of that time being delayed at a station.... With an R142A it was only about 20.
  22. I might sound stupid, but what is a flat wheel?? (more in-depth about it)
  23. yes, but what if there is trouble in the process of the conversion? you never know what is going to happen during the process. It might delay the process more, and you probably don't have a clue if the will scrap it due to the problem or not.
  24. Now I wonder why the didn't wait until after the CBTC was successful to order the new trains/convert older trains.
