  1. Judging by what I've seen when riding R142A/S on the , they are much better than the ones on the . What they should have done, even though it would have been more work, was to take all the R142A's from the and convert them into R188's. That way, the fleet number can be equal and the converted sets wouldn't be just the load of sh*t from the . If they needed more, they would start from the 76xx on the and start going down, so the fleet numbers can be eve. It would also make the conversion sets not look so crappy.. Then the remainder of R142A's on the would head to the and the R62A's would go to the . A lot more work, but in my opinion would be better for the conditions of the cars on the . They would last longer.
  2. I think throughout the years that Corona would take care of these R142A's R188's, because It seems that the one's on the are much better. Anyways, when the is all R188, the chance of getting a brand new car to a converted car is basically the same as getting an R142A on the as to getting an R142, right? EDIT: Wrong train XD
  3. That might just have me only ride the C car when I ride those conversions... The R142A's are a disaster and they are gonna make the the brand new disaster...
  4. With the recent graffiti on trains, I've always wondered if the R188 will face the same problems as the R160 when it comes to cleaning the mess. In a video I've seen about touring the Kawasaki plant, a person mentioned that if they tag the R188's, the graffiti will apparently wipe right off. Apparently, that is not the case for the R160's. My question is, is that true? Does graffiti wipe right off the stainless steel of R188's?
  5. So.. if 7852-7854 are at 239, where are 7844-7851 (The rest of the set) And I assume 7855-7865 are being delivered or are they already delivered? (Includes 7857 XD if ya know what I mean)
  6. Oh hey guys, wanna go to hell ride the line? MTA Service Status Service Change Posted: 01/03/2014 9:06AM Due to a train with mechanical problems at 5 Av, no between Times Sq-42 St and Grand Central-42 Stin both directions. Allow additional travel time. Service Change Posted: 01/03/2014 8:26AM Due to inclement weather, Times Square-bound express train service is suspended. Allow additional travel time Delays Posted: 01/03/2014 8:26AM Due to ongoing signal problems at 40 St, Main St-bound trains are running with delays. Allow additional travel time.
  7. Rode the R188 express yesterday (Flushing bound), rather quieter and smoother then the R62A's. Pretty speedy! Also rode it in the morning out to Times Square getting the technically not RFW anymore, but an awesome view out the front! It was indeed in service (7811-7821), but 7822-7832 was in the yard yesterday when I saw it. Sadly, it's disappointing that the interior sign doesn't use <> when it goes express and still uses (). I'm wondering, does the front of the train show a diamond or a circle? Because it would be hard as hell to tell the difference between a local and an express, especially people who aren't good at English.
  8. I passed Corona at around 8:20, I saw an R188 at the yard. Not sure which one.
  9. I just missed the R188 today, mostly because I was riding with some cousins and they were in a rush. I have a really good tip to catch the R188 - ONLY AT TERMINAL STATIONS! First, you have to see the R188 in order to estimate the time. I saw it at 103rd Street today while heading to Manhattan on the . I estimated the time it would arrive at Flushing, which was around 4:00 PM. One trip on the local would take 40 minutes, so it would arive at TSQ at 4:40. I would go around 7:00 PM, and I estimated it would be at TSQ at 7:20. I always estimate a little early to arrive there and wait. Since we were in a rush, we just took the R62A that was there. At approximately 7:22 PM, I assume (by the looks of the train) that the R188 was approaching Bryant Park and was heading to TSQ. During the 30 day test of 7811-7821, I used this method time and got the train in time. Really good method if you are really wanting to hunt that R188! On another note, 7811-7821 was sitting in Corona Yard today as I passed by. Don't think it would be in service any time soon, unless maybe 7822-7832 has a problem and they are short and have to run that set.
  10. I might be stupid by asking, but what do all those abbreviations stand for that were posted here? (FUBAR, BIE, IC) If they are abbreviations.
  11. Really hope that she is doing good at the moment and will survive. On another note though, how long would a train be taken out of service for investigation or other purposes after incidents like this?
  12. Chrome just can't work correctly. Getting 2-3 pop-up messages from the browser saying "Your profile could not open correctly" is annoying as hell.

I've been using Chrome for a while now and even a Chromebook and why have I not encountered what you are over the years?

It literally just started a few days ago when I tried using another email for my chrome.

  13. There are quite a few R62A's with RFW on the Manhattan side. Should really start grabbing videos before they're gone! Many are getting full-width cabs on the flushing side as well, saw quite a lot the other day. Better get the RFW's before they're gone!
  14. I'm surprised that they didn't use R188's for the first trip to 34th street on the .
  15. I haven't been caught up, but if it wasn't said, I saw 4471 (QV NG) on the Q28 today... With QV stickers. It might be a loaner, but not sure.
  16. BTW I had a ride on the R188 on Sunday and I saw that 7818 had scratchiti (or however you spell it) on one of it's doors. It was not little, it was all over the door window.
  17. Will the R188's be running on Monday? If so what would be the periods?
  18. It has been at Stengel for a week, but I didn't see the CS stickers. I'm pretty sure I saw it yesterday on the Q44 still with QV stickers...
  19. The only 6000's that have been modified from Stengel are prob the ones that came from Staten Island.
  20. Hmm... Just about 45 minutes ago I saw 4477 on the Q12. I couldn't see the depot stickers though.
  21. Worst repaint I've ever seen... On another note, 4206 is repainted in the new scheme.
