That on repution only the only reason he still double teamed. In last few games of '08 season, "TO' dopped lot of passes and did not seem to have the HOF type speed he had 3-4 years ago. TO at that time almost singlehandely won the 2004-05 super bowl for the Birds vs the Pats while badly injuried.

Yes Owens is still a very good WR and dangerous but he is not an elite one anymore imo.

And the new name of the Dallas Cowboys new stadium in Arlington, Texas(just outside Dallas)is...Cowboys Stadium.

Owner Jerry Jones after dozens of offfers from national/international companies for naming rights for America's newest and largest NFL stadium at 98,000 seats has recently decided to name the new home for the NFL's most popular team after the club. Cowboys Stadium also receives world attention in Febuary 2011 when the Dallas area hosts it first Super Bowl.

Similar to Browns Stadium in Cleveland and the 'new' Yankee Stadium, Jones and the Cowboys will still have naming rights to portions of the stadium and has not ruled naming rights for the new stadium in the future.

source: http://WWW.Dallasmorningnews.com 'search' Cowboys Stadium.

Also the Dolphins has once again change the name of their stadium in Miam site of this season super bowl. It named after a clothing line of new part-Owner, 1970's-era pop star Jimmy Buffett and is called "Land Shark Stadium." Also the Jaguars have renamed their home to the "Gator Bowl' aka Jacksonsvillie Memorial Stadium after the team ended their stadium deal with "Alltell Communcations' ended after the 2008 season. FYI. The Cowboys in a prime time game on NBC-TV open their new home against their long time Conference rival the NY Giants on Sunday Sept. 20"Sunday Night Football' week 2 match.

Reactions/Comments on the stadium name game?

No offense but other than hardcore NFL bettors and players auditioning to make the teams, very few people care about this warmup or any pre season games.

This is further proof imo why the trainning camp games should be cut to no more than 2-3 games. And most important charge all NFL teams in pre season games should only charge, 1/2 price cost on tickets as they do on Broadway shows when the stars of the play or musical are not peforming. Most NFL Players now stay in shape 52 weeks a year unlike even just 30 years ago when many players had 2nd jobs in the off-season.

Whille the Vick signing in Phildelphia gets the most news attention, the other big story is that former Browns WR Donte Stallworth was suspended for rest of the '09 season. Stallworth who admitted and pleaded gulity to killing a man in Miami while drunk received only 30 days in jail. On this one, Goddell is correct imo in a long term suspension for Stallworth.

One season after playing for us here in the A.F.C. East, #4 Mr. Brett Favre has returned to the N.F.C. North signing as a member of.....the Minnesota Vikings and changing his color from green to purple! Could be interesting when the Vikings play the Green Bay Packers twice.

On Friday August 14th, the (J)(E)(T)(S) lost a close Preseason opener 23-20 at Giants Stadium to the Saint Louis Rams. Mr. Sanchez engineered a touchdown drive in this game.

Two interesting things to watch: Mr. Micheal Vick as a Philadephia Eagle and T.O., Mr. Terrell Owens as a Buffalo Bill.

Los Angeles (and Anaheim) continue to survive and do fine without a football team. Phoenix (Arizona) and Denver (Colorado) as well as Miami (Florida) continue to have teams in all four major sports and with an interesting use of the city/state name in all three. In Arizona, only the DiamondBacks and Suns are in the city of Phoenix; the Cardinals and Coyotes are in the city of Glendale.

ether way,now people will not take Favre serous anymore....three weeks ago he say he wont be coming back.

He is this era Larry Holmes/Roberto Duran who dont know when to quit and may take an injury to retire for good. I am not saying i want it to happen to him but many players are forced to quit due to iinjuries.

While the media atttention continues to focus on Micheal Vick and Donte Stallworth, another troubling incident in NFL has occureed. Read story.

Source: Raiders coach Tom Cable tells Randy Hanson 'I am going to kill you'

By Brad Biggs Associated Press NFL reporter.

Friday, August 21st 2009

An attorney representing injured Oakland Raiders assistant coach Randy Hanson will turn over medical records at the request of the Napa, Calif., police on Friday that show Hanson's jaw is broken, multiple sources told the National Football Post.

San Francisco attorney John McGuinn has been hired to represent Hanson, and police have been attempting to gain information from Hanson in recent days. Lt. Brian McGovern said earlier this week that if Hanson's jaw is broken, it could lead to felony charges in the alleged assault that took place at the Raiders' training camp facility. The source said Hanson suffered a fracture in his upper jaw and that he had to seek additional emergency room treatment Wednesday night near his home in Livermore, Calif., for lower jaw pain two weeks after the incident

IMO this is a double standard by the NFL and Goddell. IMO Coach Cable should already be suspended and if this was the real world Cable is already fired. Any reactions?

*facepalm* Only in Oakland. Hell, the Detroit Lions are a lesser laughingstock, in my opinion. But seeing the Raiders fall so low is such a shame, 'cause this franchise was such a proud one at one point.

Agreed. Al Davis who at one time, was one of the best Owners/CEO's in all of sports is a joke now and needs to either sell the team or just let someone else run day-day business operations.

The Lions are the worst team in NFL & maybe pro sports right now but at least they dont look like fools. The Raiders on other hand are an embrassment.:P

The South Flordia stadium home to the Dolphins and MLB's Marlins(until end of 2011 season)has a new name again. Oringally called Joe Robbie after the team oringal owner and in recent years Dolphins Stadium just in time for the upcoming super bowl in Feb another stadium change.

The name is now Land Shark stadium. That right the new stadium name is based on clothing line of new part owner Jimmy Buffett.

The Fish have new ownership led by NYC real esate mogul Stephen Ross taking over from long time boss Wayne Hugieniza. Involved in the new Ross ownership group includes several famous celebrites such as Buffett, Singers Gloria Estfen, Marc Anothny/Jennifer Lopez and Tennis Champions the Williams (Venus and Serena) sisters as part owners as well.

Ok shifting gears. With pre season thankfully ending this holiday weekend i now make my picks for the upcoming 2009/10 NFL season. It subject to change by week 2 if any injuries ie Brady last year getting hurt in week #1.

So here goes as i list only the division winners and wild card teams.

AFC

East

Pats

North

Ravens

South

Colts

West

Chargers

Wild Card

Steelers

Titans

AFC Surprise(Sleeper team)

Bills-This year suprise AFC as Terrel Owens not the same great player as his days with the 49ers/Eagles 5-6 years ago, but will be on a "kurt warner' comeback type mission on a great season and start to get serious considertation for the NFL Hall of Fame.

Will battle the Titans and Dolphins for last AFC WC spot if "TO" is on fire.

Predicition for the Jets.

4th(last)place in AFC West.

NFC

East

Giants

North

Vikings-Favre does not need to be the player he was even in 1999-2000 but if he struggles like at the end of last season w/ Jets, Minny misses the post season despite having maybe the best offensive player in league right now in RB/WO Adrian Peterson.

South

Panthers

West

Cardinals(they might win 10-11 games imo and might still lose in the 1st round)

Wild Card

Eagles

Saints

sleeper or suprise team in NFC. Bears-If the Micheal Vick 'experiment' falls apart in Philly, this is the team that will take the Eagles playoff spot. Cutler will do very well in Chicago barring injuries.

Worst team in NFL for the season imo. Oakland Raiders.

Those picks are my playoff teams and 'bonus' predictions for the upcoming pro football season. Way too early for super bowl talk so come back in late decemeber and i pick them for you lol. Feel free guys to make your NFL picks.
