Intermodal train headed south. AC4400CW 599 with [i believe] the E-L branch to Greycourt on the overpasses. Fred G Posted March 29, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted March 29, 2010 Cool pics, Fred! Thanks! love freight rail! Such a long ass snake train Wonderful pixs sir! What state is this in? Thanks, Mark. I was in NY up by Newburgh Great shots Fred its always nice when CSX decides to run on the River sub, there are days where you may see one train in 8 hours.. First train is K634. Second Q118 Third Q417 Fourth Q438 Fifth another K634. CSX likes that symbol for Ethanol LOL. Thanks, and thanks for the train numbers. I've learned that Saturday around 11 to 1 is pretty good and then it's catch as catch can. I also learned that the wayside signals are off unless there is train activity so that gets the heart pumping too But yeah, often it's a dead line, unless you're on the east bank of the Hudson. Nice Fred! How many trains an hour did you get up there? They came in small groups, I had 4 between 11 and 1 and then 2 more and that was it. I drove over to Cold Spring for pizza and then fanned the MN line at Garrison and Little Stony Point, that ped overpass north of Cold Spring. Thanks for the compliment, Dan.

LOL I was just going to ask how busy that line was. I shot that line once back in Conrail days with the late Mike Abalos; we tried chasing a train south and wound up getting lost somewhere in the Newark area. It looked like a really neat line!
