Broadway Local Posted September 19, 2010 Author Share #54 Posted September 19, 2010 a lot of underground stations are hot in the summer and cold during the winter. It depends on how much heat there is in the underground. Elevated stations are the best during summer time.

TriboroughBridge Posted September 20, 2010 Share #62 Posted September 20, 2010 When I was going to staples, I took the to Bay Ridge-95th Street Station and it is so hot, that I sweat in less than 1 minute. That station is a toaster oven. Also when I took the train via the to 36th Street, man, it is hot in that station too like a microwave oven while I was waiting for the to Bay Ridge-95th Street, even when it is winter. If you are in a subway station that is a toaster oven, reply what station you are in? i feel you bro. the Times sq station & union sq station, make hell feel cold! ladyjay114 Posted September 24, 2010 Share #63 Posted September 24, 2010 Ever stayed waiting for the Broadway trains at 34 St./ Herald Sq? It's hell. +1!! You can also roast a chicken in the 42nd St/Times Square station. The MTA did give the Union Sq platform (N,Q,R) some relief. Towards the front of the Brooklyn bound side there's actually an air conditioner.
Broadway Local Posted September 25, 2010 Author Share #64 Posted September 25, 2010 This happens in almost all underground stations.
KNIGHTRIDER3:16 Posted September 25, 2010 Share #65 Posted September 25, 2010 I am glad I have my 18th Avenue elevated West End station. In the summer it's good but in the winter it's freezing but it's better then being in a tunnel. East Bdwy(F) / 59 Lex(N) tunnel stations have really good wind coming out the tube. Brooklyn Bridge is A oven even with some AC that they have. 125 is Toaster Approved
Broadway Local Posted September 25, 2010 Author Share #66 Posted September 25, 2010 East Bdwy(F) / 59 Lex(N) tunnel stations have really good wind coming out the tube. Probably there is a fan in those stations.
INDman Posted September 26, 2010 Share #67 Posted September 26, 2010 Probably there is a fan in those stations. No fans other then ones that are used during emergencies. They are river tunnel stations and a train moving through a tube creates ALOT of air pressure.
