We have this on the inner part of the M1 in Melbourne. For 40KM east and at least 20-30KM west. It does improve traffic flow but most mornings and afternoons the West Gate and Monash are Carparks. The Monash much more. It isn't known as the carpark for nothing! It can stretch for over 20-30Km of the freeway.

My point was it would never work here. People don't respect traffic laws. They park in bus lanes, they ignore alternate side, and do even get me started on the @$$holes on bikes.

 

No one follows the traffic laws here. This will never work here. Im not even gonig to lie, I dont follow the traffic laws all the time. Sometimes you dont have a choice. People here are in the own little world when it comes to driving.
