Phil D. Posted July 16, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 16, 2007 I just walked up the block to see whats going on in the freight yard. They got 2 R28s sitting in there, no idea what they are doing in there. There Use to be graffti on those trains but they painted over it with white paint. I couldn't get any pics of the other R28 #7927 because its blocked by a fence and bushes. But as you can see both trains were painted over and ruined with white paint. I checked NYC subway.org to see what the deal is with these trains. "7926-7927----At Illinois Railway Museum, outside Chicago, 8/2004. Before this date, the cars sat idle in Concourse Yard for almost two years. The cars experienced some grafitti and some paint chipping, revealing a possible all-white scheme. They were taken to Illinois by freight rail." http://nycsubway.org/cars/r262829.html

TransitGuy Posted July 16, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 16, 2007 I'll just copy my response in TS: Nice Photos. They might transport it away for scrap but they should really save one and restore it to an all white scheme. Thanks for sharing.
