R32 3838 Posted January 6, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 6, 2011 i was talking to a freind of mine that works the N6 and always has an 1400 told me they were all gone out of that depot. the only depot to have the L10G's is rockville centre i guess 1426 was the very last 1400 now there is only 3 1997 models left 1502.1503 & 1507 the rest os 1998 models 1508-09,1514-19 and 1525 are the only ones i seen so far so rockville centre is the only depot to have the L10G's and you better get your rides now. Btw I saw 1808 last night on the N72, so I think 1809 and 1810 are on property

SoSpectacular Posted January 7, 2011 Share #5 Posted January 7, 2011 Well, there goes what was once a set of great buses... I'll miss those Cummins L10G Orions roaring down my block... For the past 12+ years of living on Sanford Avenue watching these buses from their first days at Long Island Bus... I was very lucky to get this last GOOD ride before I never saw these much anymore...

Joel Up Front Posted January 7, 2011 Share #7 Posted January 7, 2011 I had way too many Orion V Cummins rides last month. I think I was on the N25 coming from Lynbrook Station and there was this rattling coming from the back. I have not ridden a 1400 series since last May... Joel Up Front Posted January 8, 2011 Share #16 Posted January 8, 2011 The last N4 ride I had was on a 1500. A veteran operator was behind the wheel and in front of the King Kullen near RVC depot, the farebox broke. I never realized it until the operator groaned after the guy trying to use his transfer dipped it in for the 9th time and he went, "It's broken." I'm going out next week to get something - I'll see if any of the 3 buses I ride (N25, N4, N35) will be an 1800.
