SoSpectacular Posted February 1, 2011 Share #26 Posted February 1, 2011 More standing room means more available room for people during a commute on a train that gets regularly crowded...
Fan Railer Posted February 2, 2011 Share #27 Posted February 2, 2011 How does Toshiba even sound? check out minneapolis' light rail rolling stock... basically it sounds akin to mitsubishi propulsion...
CHItransitFan88 Posted February 6, 2011 Share #28 Posted February 6, 2011 I vote for partial bench and traverse seating. e.g. middle of cars get Bench seating and carends get traverse seating no seat division and padding. CTA's new 5000's cars are a horrible ripoff of nyc cars. All longitudinal seats except four seats near one set of doors with seat divisions and no padding. I'd rather have benches they are a lot more comfortable.

Just like the Comets on AMTransporte in Montreal. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=25476 <View Link please.

manrush Posted February 23, 2011 Share #31 Posted February 23, 2011 Other potential seating arrangements for Metrorail. How about a seating arrangement similar to the new TTC Toronto Rocket subway trains? http://media.thestar.topscms.com/images/31/cd/b4cb9f99460d8f4a8be648cf022c.jpeg Or the new Sao Paulo Metro trains? Or the London Metropolitan Line S-stock interior? But, if it has to be more like suburban rail, then maybe these could be good interiors to work off. The Hitachi trains used by Melbourne's network. They are the oldest such trains in the city. This interior is a refurbished one. Izmir's Egeray suburban rail, built by CAF. http://www.subways.net/turkey/egeray.jpg Z6400 found on Transilien's Grande ceinture Ouest line. http://www.kazeo.com/sites/fr/photos/178/les-Z6400_1783196-L.jpg
Roadcruiser1 Posted February 24, 2011 Share #32 Posted February 24, 2011 They have experience in Russia, China, Egypt, some places in North, and South America, and South Africa. Here is a video explaining the propulsion. They tell you what cars in the world use their propulsion, and find out more about it. http://www3.toshiba.co.jp/sic/english/rw/innotrans2010/popup_main03.htm
