Bushwick Bill 0 Posted May 4, 2008 Share #1 Posted May 4, 2008 I noticed R160 cars on the L line. Are the R160 cars on the L line? If so how many are they?
Phil D. 0 Posted May 4, 2008 Share #2 Posted May 4, 2008 There are about 6 sets or more during rush hour. Its hard to tell you in exact number because it always changes. ENY trys to push out as many as possible. R160s replaced the wonderfull R42s that ran the L Line during the rush hour to provide extra service. error46146 1,007 Posted May 4, 2008 Share #3 Posted May 4, 2008 instead of replacing your beloved R42's they could have kept those R42's and just add some R160's to improve even more service but oh well...

Phil D. 0 Posted May 4, 2008 Share #5 Posted May 4, 2008 instead of replacing your beloved R42's they could have kept those R42's and just add some R160's to improve even more service but oh well...Well the reason why they took the 42s off is because they just wanted NTTs to be on the Larry. They claimed the reason was because the 42s can't do CBTC. What doesn't make sense is that the 160s aren't in CBTC mode so they are just like a 42. Half the 143s on the Larry are not even running in CBTC and are in bypass. CBTC is nothing but problems and a waste of money right now.
