EE Broadway Local Posted March 6, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 6, 2011 A unique subway line, the Brooklyn-Queens Crosstown is our only subway line to not serve Manhattan. It also bridges the Gowanus Canal while it tunnels under Newtown Creek. Today the is more Brooklyn than Queens. The first topic for discussion: Do you think the may eventually receive R68s or R160s or keep the R46s and is the likely to stay four cars for the near future? The first topic for discussion: Do you think the may eventually receive R68s or R160s or keep the R46s and is the likely to stay four cars for the near future? The line is 4/75' cars and will stay that way. Is it crowded in the rush hour? Yes, but so are most other subway lines. The other board had rumors of R68's coming there a week ago, another on-line false rumor. However, as of 6/26/11, when the next t/o and c/r work programs/pick goes into effect, CIYD will be supplying the equipment, expected to be R68's (R68A's?) as all their reporting locations will be CIYD and Church Ave. with all trains arriving at CSQ returning to Brooklyn. Roadcruiser1 Posted March 6, 2011 Share #3 Posted March 6, 2011 So the might run R68's eh. That would be interesting to see. Though the most certainly has one of the lowest ridership of all of the NYC Subway Lines that exist in the city. One thing I would like to see is the back on the IND Queens Boulevard Line. FamousNYLover Posted March 7, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 7, 2011 I also remember during no train service between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Court Sq, Bus was extreme crowded during weekend peak hours when I boarded LIB Shuttle Bus or regular Bus at Bedford-Nostrand. bknightshadow45 Posted March 7, 2011 Share #8 Posted March 7, 2011 As a regular train rider, the line have good ridership even though the don't go to Manhattan. Most train riders either transfer to Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street for the or the trains, Metropolitan Avenue-Grand Street for the and Court Square for the , or train for Manhattan or Queens service. During rush hours you be lucky to get a seat on the between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Court Square.
