Let's see:

(J) runs in two sections: Broadway Junction to Jamaica Center and Marcy Av to 95 st (on the R line). This is to give commuters access to (A) trains at Jay st.

(Z) suspended

(M) runs in two sections: Forest Hills to Marcy AV (assuming trains are allowed to terminate there) and from Metropolitan Av to Myrtle Av). If trains can't go into Marcy or Myrtle, then Forest Hills to Essex st and Metropolitan to Central.

NEXT: An outage in Manhattan has made it so no trains can run over the Manhattan bridge. DeKalb is affected. Only 15TPH can run through the station in each direction. NO MORE!

(B) No service b/w West 4 Street & Brooklyn.

(D) No service b/w West 4 Street & Times Square-42 Street via Bway Local - Tunnel, with 5 TPH. Extra trains run b/w 9 Avenue & Coney Island.

(N) No service b/w Queens & Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center.

(Q) Via Tunnel, with 5 TPH. All trains run to Astoria-Ditmars Blvd, with extra trains running b/w Queens & 57 Street-7 Avenue and Prospect Park & Coney Island.

(R) 5 TPH only. Extra trains run b/w 57 Street-7 Avenue & Queens.

(G) Select trains are extended to Forest Hills-71 Avenue to replace (R) service.

LIST:

Broadway Express: (Q)

Broadway Local: (D)(R)

Next scenario: A roflcopter (http://roflcopter.net/) has crashed into the Broadway El, reroute (J), (M) and (Z) service b/w Marcy Avenue and Broadway Junction.

The planned (P) line (search on Wikipedia) is implemented, running from Jamaica Center to Essex Street, then turning there to Broad Street.

(J) Via Chrystie St Cut/8 Avenue Express to Inwood-207 Street.

(Z) Via Chrystie St Cut/8 Avenue Express/Concourse Express (both directions) to 205 Street & Bedford Park Blvd.

(M) Via Fulton Street Express to Lefferts Blvd (I heard they had announcements for that... )

All trains override the size limit and scratch the tunnel, making the whole Chrystie Street Connection to go tumbling down.....

(E) trains run 59th Street, run Broadway local and terminate at Whitehall. (N) trains run Broadway express. (Q) trains terminate at 57th Street.

(M) trains run via 63rd Street.

Agreed?

Nope, I don't agree. Sorry... .

The planned (P) line (search on Wikipedia) is implemented, running from Jamaica Center to Essex Street, then turning there to Broad Street.

(P) TRAIN FOWM on Wikipedia:
P (short for Penn Station) was planned for a nonstop between Sutphin Boulevard – Archer Ave (at theLIRR's Jamaica station) and 34th Street – Penn Station, continuing locally to 168th Street, via the BMT Archer Avenue Line, BMT Jamaica Line, Chrystie Street Connection, IND Sixth Avenue Line and IND Eighth Avenue Line (switching to the latter at West Fourth Street) in the 1990s. This would have been used during a threatened Amtrak strike that would have prevented LIRR trains from entering Penn Station.

(1) trains run from 242nd to 14th Street.

(2) trains run in two sections, 241st to TSQ and Atlantic Avenue to Flatbush.

(3) service suspended. All trains in Manhattan converted to (2) or (1) trains, all trains in Brooklyn converted to (4) trains, extra trains sent to Livonia Yard.

(4) trains run in two sections, Woodlawn to Grand Central and New Lots to Atlantic Avenue (Local in Brooklyn).

(5) trains run from East 180th to Dyre Avenue.

(6) trains run from 125th to Pelham Bay Park.

Extra trains start to stack west of Nevins Street.

Extra 7th Avenue trains stack south of 14th Street on the local tracks, on express, south of TSQ.

Extra Lex trains stack south of 42nd Street.

Now someone do BMT/IND!

NO.

NEXT: because of a fire, the 53 St tunnel is unusable between Lexington Av/53 St and Court Sq-23 St. Try to maintain as many TPH as possible between Manhattan and Queens. NO FOWMING WHATSOEVER  (TSS realizes that he just opened up a can of worms with that statement)

(E) Via 6th Avenue Local - 63 Street.

(M) Via 63 Street.

Select (E)(M) trains run to/from Lexington Avenue-53 Street ((E) Via 8th Avenue) & 23 Street-Court Square.

My replies in teal blue:

I'll be glad to do it!

(1) No service b/w 14 Street & South Ferry, via 7th Avenue Express (south of Times Sq-42 Street)

(2) No service b/w 14 Street & Nevins Street.

thumbs-up.gif

(3) Suspended. Use (1)(2)(4).

379.gif

What would you do with the 3 trains that are on the tracks? They can't disappear. I'd terminate them at 42 St.

(4) No service b/w 14 Street-Union Square (northbound via local south of Grand Central) & Borough Hall

379.gif

The switches don't exist, according to the track maps.

(5) No service b/w East 180 Street & Brooklyn.

379.gif

What would you do with the 5 trains that are already in service?

(6) No service b/w 14 Street-Union Square (southbound via express south of Grand Central)

379.gif

Once again, the switches don't exist.

6th & 8th Avenue Line Terminals:

14 Street: (E) via 8 Ave Express.

thumbs-up.gif

Broadway-Laffayette: (A)(C) via 8 Ave Local, (B)

379.gif

Not possible for the A / C; only the B.

Delancy Street: (D)(F)

thumbs-up.gif

That's smart. It provides a connection to the (J)(Z).

(J) No service b/w Essex Street & Broad Street.

thumbs-up.gif

(N) No service b/w Times Square-42 Street & Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center.

379.gif

This would interfere with (R) trains terminating at 34 St. Both (N) and (R) trains should terminate at the same place for that reason, whether it's 42 St or 34 St.

(Q) No service b/w Queens & Court Street.

thumbs-up.gif

(R) No service b/w 34 Street-Herald Square & Court Street.

thumbs-up.gif

(Z) No service b/w Essex Street & Broad Street.

(5): Changed into (4) or (6) trains: Trains terminate at Grand Central-42 Street.

(A)(B)(C)(D)(E)(F): I'll change it

(B): Changed into 6 TPH.

14 Street: (E) (On Express tracks)

Broadway-Laffayette St: (B)(D)(F)

Delancy Street: (A)(C) (Via 8 Ave Local)

(N)(R): Sorry, I wasn't familar with the switches around there. All trains shall terminate @ 34 Street-Herald Square.

The City Hall Loop is impassable, reroute (6) trains - no more than 30tph per track.

(5) No service b/w East 180 Street.

(6) Extended to Bowling Green with 15 tph.

EDIT: I realized the (2)(3)(5) can't run in the same track, even though that happened in a G.O. Trying to be realistic.

Since there hasn't been a scenario posted in a while,

NEXT

The express tracks are impassable at 23 St on the 6 and 7 Av lines. Also impassable is the connection from the 60 St tunnel to Queens Plaza, in both directions.

Affected: (2)(3)(B)(D)(R), and anything else that's necessary

An older post
