UlmerPark B6 Posted June 23, 2008 #1 Posted June 23, 2008 I found this on the internet http://www.nycsubway.org/perl/show?86369 So is there a second option order for Kawasaki?

Pablo M 201 Posted June 23, 2008 #4 Posted June 23, 2008 Yeah boy, up in the 9000s already. 96xx is sort of strange though.
R32 3348 Posted June 23, 2008 #5 Posted June 23, 2008 Those cars are 90XX, not 96XX. It was a typo. You can see it in the photo if you look carefully.

error46146 Posted June 23, 2008 #7 Posted June 23, 2008 i know i posted this on sub chat before but i wonder what their gonna do once they go up to the magic 9999... according to my calculations if each car gets its own number and they don't reuse any old numbers they are going to go past 9999 if they complete all the option orders..
UlmerPark B6 Posted June 23, 2008 Author #8 Posted June 23, 2008 Or maybe they are changing the numbers in order to leave room for the R160A option order?

I don't see R179s getting to that number either, pending how big the order is going to be though. The MTA wants to avoid having to use a 5th digit for revenue service cars.

They are already reusing numbers... last I checked, these used to be the old Redbird numbers.
