mtattrain Posted December 6, 2012 Share #26 Posted December 6, 2012 Due to 9/11, The Cortlandt Street Station is #421 until it's rebuilt. Aqueduct Racetrack is #420 w/ 475K+ riders, annually. http://mta.info/nyct..._sub_annual.htm That's still a lot tho...
Q10 Airport Posted December 7, 2012 Share #27 Posted December 7, 2012 From both my experiences and ridership statistics the Queens stops (with the exceptions of Rockaway Blvd, Lefferts Blvd, and Far Rockaway stops) are lightly used.
realizm Posted December 7, 2012 Share #28 Posted December 7, 2012 As well as certain stops on the West End like 71st Street. Of course it is more populated during AM peak hrs but otherwise yeah. How about that South ferry stain folks?
TwoTimer Posted December 8, 2012 Share #29 Posted December 8, 2012 As far as I know, it's just now, with the ending at Howard Beach, that the Racetrack is indefinately closed. I thought the northbound only Aqueduct Racetrack station was closed for good Its close while Genting renovates the back of the station (there's a flyover being built over the parking lot directly to the racino). I'm not sure what the plan is once that is done (its almost finished now as is).
pjbr40 Posted December 8, 2012 Share #30 Posted December 8, 2012 twotimer, i was at the aqueduct on 12/7. We walk all the way to back of the station likely twice as long then usual length to exit for racing. it very confusing to me when i want to return to station. The sign inside the casino area show where the skywalk but not open at all. we couldnt find the path that will allow us to use it. my friend and i had to walk all the way to north conduit to get into the station. That station is crowded for me when i got off and on at North Conduit Aqueduct Racetrack and Casino.( i wonder what the NTT will say they get to that stop)
Brooklyn Posted December 8, 2012 Share #31 Posted December 8, 2012 It has to be ones along the in the Rockaways and/or along the Franklin Av Shuttle. 21 Van Alst is pretty desolate.
Ceya Posted December 8, 2012 Share #32 Posted December 8, 2012 21st Street - Van Alst. Pretty sure it's like 412 out of 420. It's too close to Court Square to be particularly useful, and is also a hell hole (if you'll notice my sig...) Yes a hell hole but it will be used more since the zoning was changed. More resdiental apartments (condos, coops and rentals). The change of Jackson ave and around the bridges (Queens ans Polaski) is starting to be seen more. Those manufacturing companies have folded or moving to other cities. Soon more people will tell MTA to fix it. S/F, CEYA!
