Turbo19 Posted June 24, 2013 Share #26 Posted June 24, 2013 maybe not? http://www.bensonhurstbean.com/2013/06/mta-says-x28-weekend-service-restoration-unlikely/ Unfortunately we've seen that thrown around here as well. A dame shame that a valuable asset in public transit to the community is not reinstated.

Well, now that you mention it...they probably will eventually.
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted June 28, 2013 Share #29 Posted June 28, 2013 the X28 had more ridership then the BM1/2 or the BM3/BM4/BM5 weekends combined IIRC.
Kingsbridgeviewer382 Posted June 28, 2013 Share #30 Posted June 28, 2013 It sounds good, but my gripe about it is that the commuters have to pay $3.50 more than the normal subway fare just to get to Manhattan. There are WAY more alternatives to take than the X28 at a cheaper cost. The closure will be for only 14 months and what happens once service is restored? I'm not saying that service shouldn't be restored, but people won't pay more for their fare when they have other alternatives that can save them money. Don't even think that reducing the fare for the X28 will help because that will cause uproar from other boroughs demanding the same reduced-fare express ride. qjtransitmaster Posted June 28, 2013 Share #31 Posted June 28, 2013 the X28 had more ridership then the BM1/2 or the BM3/BM4/BM5 weekends combined IIRC. sad isn't it? hence why x28 saturday service needs restoration.
