Obamacare: Who Stands to Win or Lose?

C'mon, you know better than to post an op-ed by some confused writer and pass it off like it's a new story.

Oh please.  It doesn't take rocket science to figure out Obamacare.  Obamacare depends HEAVILY on young folks like myself enrolling into the program and PAY more to do so to support the higher costs of those who are elderly or have pre-existing conditions.  Most young people are poor and also don't need to pay an arm and a leg for healthcare if they have it, so why would they go and pay more for Obamacare? It makes no sense at all to even opt for it.  Many of them will just opt for the penalty.  My employer is rolling out plans for us to choose from and is limiting their contribution, as the costs continue to go up and up each year without any end in sight.

The changes from Obamacare are just window dressing. THe underlying problems behind the high costs (insurance companies with strong lobbies that get away with charging insane amounts to make big profits, doctors ordering too many unnecessary tests, medical malpractice industry, etc.) have not been dealt with at all.

Instead, monies have been shifted around so that some seemingly new plans have been made available by the exact same insurance companies that overcharge everyone else. Why would they make plans affordable for young people if they can get away with ripping everyone off? Obama had to get in bed with the insurance companies to get this passed.

All that will happen is some people who did not realize they qualify for Medicaid will sign up with their local version of it and continue to get the same treatment. Overall, pretty much everything else will stay the same. Such insane arguing in this country over nothing.

(Yes, teens can stay on their parents insurance until 26. That is one positive change, but does not help the majority of uninsured people)

Since ObamaCare is still up and running, the next best thing to do is to wait until December and then sign up for a Bronze of Catastrophic plan (whichever is cheaper). Shop around folks, because they're supposed to be as low as $45/mo if you look in the right places and you are ridiculously healthy.
