R68 Subway Car Posted December 9, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 9, 2008 I have a railfanning question. Do Acela Trains Pass by the Harrison PATH Stop? Thanks for responding.
metsfan Posted December 9, 2008 Share #2 Posted December 9, 2008 Yes they do. Check schedule for times in between newark & new york penn for your best chance to see one. - A

Forest Glen Posted December 9, 2008 Share #4 Posted December 9, 2008 They do. However, a better place to get photos would be Stamford since some of them stop there and it's an outdoor station.
trainfan22 Posted December 9, 2008 Share #5 Posted December 9, 2008 If you planning to take photos of it at the harrison station it is not allowed as you can't take photos on PATH. Doesn't make any sense to risk taking photos of it at the stop when you can take photos of it at newark penn, New york penn, hunterspoint ave overpass and the Metro north/NJT NEC stations and its legal to take pics of it there. Not worth the risk getting locked up or harrsed.
metsfan Posted December 9, 2008 Share #6 Posted December 9, 2008 You can take photos at harrison, just not of the station or path trains. You could also go to secaucus. - A
Pablo M 201 Posted December 9, 2008 Share #7 Posted December 9, 2008 You can take photos at harrison, just not of the station or path trains. You're still on PANYNJ. The only thing you have to do is becareful of your surroundings. My suggestion though is not even bother with going to Harrison to shoot photos. The only great thing is the curve just before the Harrison station.
metsfan Posted December 10, 2008 Share #8 Posted December 10, 2008 Secaucus is a good alternate. - A

metsfan Posted December 12, 2008 Share #12 Posted December 12, 2008 Wait, you can see Acela Trains at Secaucus Junction? Of course, but they pass through, not stop or slow down. Best chance is the end towards harrison/newark which is outside and more evenly lit during the day vs inside where you have shade & light. Again, check the timetables for when they run. There is no re-route. The northeast corridor has one route, and acela wouldnt be anywhere else aside from those tracks. - A
