Paul P Posted May 27, 2009 Share #6 Posted May 27, 2009 I hate how OpenBVE configures the train running sounds so differently. The train sounds like an airplane, I hope one day this kind of quality subway route will be released for Trainz. Good vid though!
KTrainExp Posted May 27, 2009 Share #7 Posted May 27, 2009 openBVE just plays the noises a bit faster. If you tune down the speed with Audacity or something, it'll play it as BVE does.
error46146 Posted May 28, 2009 Share #8 Posted May 28, 2009 to make a train work in openbve: right click on the run.wav open with sound recorder then go to effects -> decrease speed save and voila ! most of the time it works lol

KTrainExp Posted June 1, 2009 Share #11 Posted June 1, 2009 I don't have a sound recorder, do you recommend me to use one that's free? Audacity.
Paul P Posted June 1, 2009 Share #12 Posted June 1, 2009 Audacity. Yes, I've done that some days ago. I reduced the speed by 50% and it's perfect now, but when the train reaches a certain speed there is a big annoying screech that's let out. I'm not quite sure why, but will try to get my BVE 2 or 4 back up and running.
KTrainExp Posted June 1, 2009 Share #13 Posted June 1, 2009 That's the rub noise. It's supposed to be there. Change that, the point sound, and the flange sounds as well to simulate regular BVE behavior. Then you'll have the full effects.
Paul P Posted June 2, 2009 Share #14 Posted June 2, 2009 I guess it is, but it never appeared before I changed the acceleration speed. This is one of the many reasons I wanna stay away from openBVE

Click start > All Programs > Accessories > Sound Recorded(If you have vista it should be there)
