  1. I believe it is a transfer, but I could be wrong.
  2. Had a fun weekend in the city with old friends who I haden't seen in 6 weeks.. Was all over the 8th Avenue line! The R46 C trains were awesome! :D

  3. Tbh, I think only the Q5 should serve Green Acres. The Q5 is quicker, more frequent and more direct than the Q85 and the Q85 is my home line, so I know how it is. Not many ppl are even on the bus when I get off (I get off at S. Conduit & 225th, towards the end) and when I get on it, Jamaica-bound, not many ppl are on it either. All Q85s should just terminate at 147th.
  4. Its hard for me to remember formulas and such, and I would forget just before the test and in the first semester we had 13 tests/quizzes and failed 8 of them, but still managed a 82 average, maybe my teacher is worse at math than me. In the second semester, it became more of triangles, which i work well with. geometric proofs are the worst! No one in my school seems to know how to do them lol
  5. That's the same as me ! Algebra i had a 95 average, but in Geometry i got all low 80s except for this last quarter where i got a 93). Is trig really hard compared to geometry?
  6. Shakespeare is so boring, but most of the stories are easy, well for me. My regents honors english class just finished reading Macbeth, it was really easy and i got a 98 on the test ; btw regents honors is just below honors in my school). Tbh, i just sparknotesed everything, because it was really pointless and dull to me. I couldn't take AP classes as I'm only a sophomore but I did take Honors Geometry, and Regents Honors english, global history and earth science. Next year for junior year, I am taking Honors trigonometry, AP Psychology, Honors English, Honors Chemistry and Regents Honors US History..
  7. Six Flags tomorrow with the bros, can't wait ! :D

    1. Grand Concourse

      Grand Concourse

bring back some pics and details! I love that place.

  8. im glad i'm not the only one who thinks that this is stupid. In the mornings, I get on the at Jamaica Center and heading home from school I get on the (N)/(Q) at Astoria-Ditmars so I notice it everyday. I thought it was like that maybe because when a train is about to leave the station, it just goes from having that one door open to all the doors being open, and that shows people that the train is about to leave, but thats just my thought.
  9. runs on the between W 4th and 47-50th sts, then follows the to 59th-Columbus Circle. Operates as a local via Fulton and CPW suspended and the supplements service by running local. Normal service.
  10. I didn't mean only the Q85, I meant in general, i used the Q85 as an example.
  11. I have a lot of friends who have Sprint and they have had signal problems and also issues with replacements. If i were you, I would change carriers if possible, but early termination fees can be a PITA, so buying a new phone may be your best bet. This is why I don't have a carrier with contracts anymore. I have MetroPCS and the LG Optimus M+ and I love it, although data is a bit slow sometimes.
  12. I agree, some queens routes could use a bit more service and there is bunching on a few lines too (Q85!!), but Queens is well off when it comes to bus service compared to Brooklyn and Staten Island, imo.
  13. Live life to the fullest and take risks . You never know what can happen :)

    1. Brighton Express

      Brighton Express

I would be careful with the take risks part, but living life to the fullest, word.

  14. No wouldn't work. Many people along Astoria Blvd between LGA and 31 Street rely on M60 to get to the N and it allows them to have another option other than the horribly slow Q19 bus (which is sometimes packed in the AM rush as well, i've been going to school in the area for almost 3 years so i know this...). The M116 is one of two buses that go near East River Plaza as well, no need to reroute it. The M60 isn't as bad as it seems actually, even though it gets crowded during the rush, its actually pretty frequent. I've seen 4 buses in 10 minutes, although sometimes buses will come in twos and threes with a considerable amt. of passengers.
  15. What is the point with the Q50 idea? No one will ride the bus if it streamlines THAT long. Your just creating an unnecessary long route, that will make regular Q50 riders use transfers to different buses due to the streamlining. Leave Q27/Q88 as it is, its fine, and I'm not sure if the 88 needs limited service.
  16. How would the Q18 go to 74th st via roosevelt then follow Q47 routing if Q47 (to Glendale) takes roosevelt to 69th st? There has to be another way the Q18 can get to 74th instead of roosevelt.
  17. I wouldn't be surprised if the came back. The is not enough to serve Astoria on its own especially with its headways. I go to school in Astoria and live in Manhattan (I get on at Union Square and get off at Ditmars, but i will be moving to Springfield Gardens by the Q85 in March so I will be getting on at Queensboro instead). The trains (Manhattan-bound) are SRO by Astoria Blvd or 30th Avenue in the morning and are always SRO before even getting to Queens (Astoria-bound) in the afternoons/evenings and that is with the AND . If the MTA doesn't bring back the or increase service when the goes up 2nd Avenue, service to/from Astoria will definetly get worse.
