    The actual signal has to be placed at a specific point, let me explain. Signals on the NYC subway are placed at track joints. The tracks themselves are electrified. When a train passes over an electrically insulated joint, it jumps the electricity onto the next sector of track, thus turning the signal red. The point of repeater signals is that the real signal has to be placed at the track joint, and a train opertator can't see the signal until almost atop of it, a spot where one cannot stop a train should the signal be red, leading to many train operators to being tripped and written up wrongly. The repeater signal is placed before the real signal and gives the train operator time to take appropriate actions for the signal. More info:http://www.nycsubway.org/articles/signals_light.html

    I didn't mean that. Where the rollsign was supposed to be there was just glass. There wasn't that sign that's used. Just glass. I could tell because I saw the marking where it used to be. Maybe the rollsign tore and they took it out for repair and put the car back in service.

    I'm designing a new type of bridge in my engineering/lunchtime notebook. Also, 5th grade gets a senior trip to Adventureland on June 13! We go from 8:00 to 4:30.(Includes sitting in a boiling hot school bus in the middle of 495 Interstate for 11/2 hours.)

      :D ppl thought i was weird in elementary school too cuz im in to trains nd buses but now (In high school) my friends realize that im unique cuz of this interest and they come to me for questions nd opinions on the system nd rely me to help teach them about it. Its awesome. Hope it will be the same for you :)

    I get really ticked off when some people just take their merry old time to JAYWALK on the busiest road in the area. We have places to be and things to do, jaywalkers. Also, some bikers cut across like two lanes of traffic to see a friend. Geez can you spare 2 minutes for your welfare and life? Also I like the old meters instead of those MuniMeters. Also can they change the name of those. It just sounds kinda, well, something I just can't describe.

    I had to suffer through that, and it was raining on me from the ceiling evacuation hatch vent. Windows were opened, but when I asked the teacher to shut the roof vent: Lady, there's a freaking lever labeled "Vent activation". By the time I got back to school, I was pissed off like hell and soaking wet.

      always use an external hard drive. flash drive should be used as 'portables' only. I would never save originals on that.

      like i said, never use FDs for storage. u should invest in an external hd or at least have a back up in the computer before loading everything in the fd.
