  1. Way Upstate in Northern Tarrytown and Croton-on-Hudson
  2. Route n70, AHRC Loop, but that's Farmingdale State College. Maybe they're planning to loop around Farmingdale? IIRC, the n70 was created mostly as a work shuttle for people who commuted over to Newsday in Melville. That became moot when the Dolan Family lost control over Newsday some time in the past. There also used to be a work shuttle from Farmingdale LIRR and Newsday before the MTA cut it for budget reasons. I also remember hearing that SCT commuters hate doing the transfer at Farmingdale State College between the S1 and other routes because the bus operator at the other bus refuse to the transfer. It's also hard to know the transfer points on Suffolk Routes without paper schedule or the internet.
  3. Apologies, it's just that I get the sense that OP lives North of Fordham and they're the only group of Bronx residents I know that want a faster commute into Manhattan.
  4. Real talk, the Jerome line should just be destroyed and rebuilt again. I feel like the and up in the Bronx really needs help. The just makes lots of stops and the is so infrequent.
  5. I vividly remember the B44 Bus Operator telling me that the route gets bogged down by traffic in the area when I tried it many years ago.
  6. I really think the Broadway Line should be as follows: Astoria-Stillwell Avenue Upper East Side 96-Stillwell Avenue Forest Hill during the Day, Astoria at Night to Bay Ridge Remain as is. I've been taking the subway during the late night and I don't like having to wait underground between 2-3 am in the morning for a train into Queens. Let the and handle Queens Blvd during the evenings and weekends. The run smoother when going local and not bogged down by congestion.
  7. Isn't 125th at Lex by that abandoned Pathmark? I get that the MNRR is nearby, but I've always seen people get in and out of the railroad station at 125th and Park Ave in a hurry.
  8. NICE must be planning on updating their website for the Winter Schedules. They are most likely doing it all in one go instead of bits and pieces of information like the Queens ReDesign.
  9. NICE used shuttle buses this past weekend between Mineola and Roosevelt FIeld for the holiday season. The n22/24 skipped the mall during that time.
  10. The typical Nassau rider only cares for reinstating the n45, n50, n51, and n73. They're more concerned with getting to Nassau Community College, Mineola and Hicksville on a north-south route. In terms of service hours, only route that I can think of that needs more service hours is the n22 running between Hicksville and Jamaica. Hempstead and Freeport already have 24 hour bus service. Out in Suffolk, they're more concerned with getting to Route 110 or crossing it to get in and out of Nassau as fast as possible. Sometimes I wish that the S1 had extended service hours till midnight.
  11. IIRC, the S20 uses a smaller arboc buses while the S33 uses a larger bus to carry passengers. Service ends early because Suffolk Transit has less service hours than NICE. The n54/55 is the only route that I ever see flooring it from Sunrise Mall to Hempstead Transit Center. To answer your question, Amityville has a Railroad Station while Sunrise is just a mall used as a transfer point. n72 still exists in the form of Conkin at Route 110. Nassau Patrons are more concerned with connecting with the S1 while Suffolk Patrons don't want to do the transfer at Farmingdale State College. It only takes 40 minutes to travel between Hempstead and Farmingdale, and another 20-30 to get from Farmingdale to Babylon. NICE acknowledge that the commute is getting worse on Long Island, which is why they are doing stop rebalancing along Hempstead Turnpike to speed up the n6. They love to remind people that the n6 carries roughly 14,000-18,000 people daily.
  12. n1- It picks up at Gibson RR and Broadway at Sheridan. The route goes thru houses south of Green Acres. Five Towns would be an improvement n27- Send it to Mineola RR. Nobody wants to use Roosevelt Field as a Transfer point. It's more for workers and shoppers. n19- It needs midday service for people who can't access the RR. It's just that Massapequa hates people from Freeport n48/49- n48 is getting extra service on the 31st to serve the Correctional Facility. n49 needs to be 40 minutes for E.Meadow Residents on Newbridge Road n45- needs to use Nassau Road and Bab Turnpike. Park Ave is useless
  13. In the n6's case, it gets slowed down by traffic on Cross Island Parkway and the sheer amount of people getting off around Belmont Park and Meacham. The n20 just has a lot of mileage between Roslyn Clock Tower and Hicksville where it doesn't pick up any passengers till Broadway Mall in both directions.
  14. The only layover spot for buses in the area is Elmont Road at Hempstead Turnpike. Elmont Road is considered a dangerous roadway because motorists speed along the stretch between Linden and Hempstead Turnpike and causing accidents. IIRC, a few residents living off Linden and Stuart opt to walk over to 234th Street to catch the Q4 bus. They do not like the n1 because they never see it or don't know when it runs.
  15. The Q8 extension to Brookdale Hospital are for the workers, many of whom are doing double shifts to make the rent money. The Q8 will provide them a direct one seat ride into Jamaica since many of them don't have a car. I agree eliminating the Q103 makes no sense, I think it should be short turned at Court Square or rerouted over Court Square instead of 21st-Queensbridge, but the agency wants to eliminate turns. A full length bus route under the elevated line in 31st Street is ideal because the at Queensboro Plaza is either crowded or delayed and it can't keep doing all that work because the and are out of service. I think they're trying to do away with the 243rd Street branch and the Green Acres of the Q85 because the street is too narrow. Only Francis Lewis is wide enough for the bus, though I still stand by the decision to make it end at Huxley and 149th Ave rather than that empty lot at Hook Creek/F.Lewis and 148th. It's a short walk from the LIRR station to the south part of Rosedale and the Far Rock and Long Beach Branch serve that station before they split at Valley Stream Railroad. So the new Q85 is going to be Rochdale-Farmers, Rosedale LIRR-Jamaica. They want the Q5 as the only bus heading to Green Acres. I still think those mall patrons waiting at the stand by Macys really want the n1 because they're trying to enter Queens while avoiding Sunrise Highway. The only way to do that is to continue on Merrick and enter the mall at Central/Mill Road, but I don't think Nassau residents want that from the city bus. It's also why I don't hold out hope for the Q36. Floral Park is waiting on NICE to do stop rebalancing on the n24 to eliminate those stops on Jericho between the border and Tyson Avenue.
  16. I was going to say that I found the map in this thread and looked at it. Hewlett at Grant Park is the only location that I can think of that would be used as a layover spot for buses since it's right in near a Police Station. Hewlett Broadway is also used as a transfer point between the n1 and n31/32. Also noticed the Q85 running down Guy R Brewer and Baisley to reach Bedell Street, then ending at Rosedale LIRR. Still trying to figure out why the map shows the Q88 going to Great Neck Plaza to serve North Shore University Hospital.
  17. I heard from Subchat that the Q111 to Cedarhurst is gone, but it's shown still in Nassau presumably going to Hewlett at Broadway/Sheridan based on the screenshot of the map.
  18. It takes the n20 two hours to travel between Hicksville and Flushing. The n22 takes 90 minutes and n24 takes 98 minutes between Hicksville and Jamaica. NICE would have to bring the n20x run time to 90 minutes to work. I found that new trip planner from the MTA website and used it to look up the travel time for NICE routes. The n6's runtime now clocks 70 minutes
  19. It's simple: The MTA wants to consolidate all the routes in Queens and scrub the private bus line history away. Queens is difficult because a lot of the current routes used to belong the Green Bus Lines, Queens Surface, Jamaica Bus Lines, and Triboro Coach.
  20. The n54/55 is used more by people living off Jerusalem Avenue and N.Amityville Residents. The only way to balance out the departure is to revert it back to it's own routing: n54-Amityville LIRR, n55 Amityville Part Time-Sunrise Mall off peak.
  21. Oh, that makes more sense. Now that I think about it, the Queens Draft would also reveal a good chunk of Nassau Routes and some Brooklyn Routes in it's draft.
  22. QT- Local QMT- Express I took a look at the JimRockaway twitter account and the best I can remember was Q10=QT14 (Lefferts Blvd) QT47(130th Street Branch of the Q10) Q11=QT83(Woodhaven and Cross Bay Blvd) and QT88 (Old Hamilton Beach Branch of the Q11) Q112 is now QT67. The draft will be released Dec.30 cause next week is Christmas.
  23. Enough to replace those old buses that I see on the S1. The S33 is the only route that I see getting new buses.
  24. The n31/32/33 is now doing pickups at Beach 21st and Mott Avenue because the Terminal is closed.
  25. Easily the and . The is just very infrequent due to all the delays in my experience. It's just a lot of waiting at 63rd and 72nd Streets for me to get to my job at MSK.
