I would even argue that the general approach to Sanders supporters actively hurt them. I was a witness, on social media, multiple times, of democrats mocking the "Bernie bros" for "not being over it yet, after Bernie lost the nomination. With a disgustingly condescending attitude like that, what were they expecting? -
That's what you get when you utilize new technology. Trust and believe that equipment in the past had issues with teething troubles as well.

I see. I'm not sure I agree with the post WWII comment, though - their PCCs, while not as numerous as those built by St. Louis, were still of very high quality.

To be fair, St. Louis and Pullman were pretty good manufacturers when the PCC was in production. Maybe they should've stuck to building those

Indeed they can't - clearances in the tunnel are not sufficient for flat sided cars such as the R32.

Did everyone just miss the point of Lance's post entirely? Just because someone posted that the cars would run on line X, doesn't mean that is actually going to happen. Plans change. They may end up going to the 8th Avenue or Jamaica lines, or they might not. Until they're actually out in service, there's no 100% guarantee that the cars will go to these lines.

But... why? There is no point in creating an über confusing strip map on the basis that "Hey, these lines might share cars... possibly." The share literally two stations with the . Creating a merged strip map would make as much sense as creating an shared strip map. The fact that they share switches, station designs, and are a part of the IND is barely a justification for such extravagance. Why not, then, create a merged line map?

The and only have combined strip maps because the fleets of those two lines are so often shared. The , and don't share fleets, so such a venture would be pointless.

The part which I enjoyed the most was the proclamation that using strip maps and R142A traction motors is uncreative. I mean, I can't say that vehicle designing doesn't involve any creativity - the PCC streetcar, IMO, was a very imaginative and creative design - but come on.

That's actually not the reason why R46s have digital displays. The R32s, 38s, 40s, etc. all went through a GOH at the same time and none of them have displays. It's because the rollsigns on the R46s were motorized; the driver could change them from the cab. When they went through the GOH, the existing wiring was hooked up to the LCD screens.
