  1. For those who are wondering why all the senior and respected members are slowly leaving this forum - here is your answer.
  2. Um... ok then... This. From an aesthetic view alone, the LFS beats the XD40 by miles. Oh well, what the MTA gets is what they will get, and we'll just have to accept it and move on.
  3. Get in line. (Even though first gens are total crap)
  4. I do intend to share my results, most likely on New Year's Eve 2013. I am quite interested in seeing what results I get; I know I have ridden about 65-70 vehicles this year for fanning reasons, but I'm curious to see how it would all add up if I add in my daily and weekly commutes. I'm on the fence about whether or not I want to put down a little note for every ride, regardless of if it's the same vehicle taking me back, or if I only make a note of every fresh vehicle I ride. I am impressed that you managed to memorize that stuff, the only way I can do that, especially the fleet numbers of vehicles, is if I get them on camera.
  5. This does bring up an interesting point - beginning in 2013, I'm considering making a little note on my phone every time I step foot on a transit vehicle, and then at the end of the year add it all up, should yield some interesting results. Thoughts?
  6. Dude, seriously? I take his hobby seriously, but you have to draw a line somewhere...
  7. The Orion VII is quite possibly the most over rated transit bus ever built.

Now that you know who is gone, we can again criticize that bus publicly.

@Astoria: The 3Gs look nice but I hate Toronto's. They restricted the best Orion Vs from going out on weekends.

@Threxx: Yup. No idea why he made such a big deal out of it, the VII is hardly Orion's best product. That would be the V, or the I.

  8. terminates at Broad Channel Beach 116 - Mott Ave
  9. to Beach 116th Street Suspended Shuttle buses between Beach 116 and Mott.
  10. The got R68s a few years back (2010, I think, but don't quote me on that).
  11. Just a word of notice, folks... if people don't like the way I act, speak or feel, than that is just too bad because I will not be changing the way I am for anyone.

  12. I value material objects. Get over it.

People try telling me how to live my life daily, so I can relate.

  13. The only time I saw one was when I was heading to the Rockaways on an R32. I look out the window... and there goes the R42. I should've just made a brief video but I, idiotically, tried to get a shot instead. It goes without saying that that was hugely unsuccessful. And that is why I now sit in the front or rear cars of every RFW train that I ride.
  14. Lucky guy. I wish the R42 on the had that kind of attitude towards me in the summer.
  15. Does anyone have the fleet numbers of the R46s which were destroyed? I'm looking through my NYC photos, to see if I photographed any of them before they were flooded, I know that 5822-5825 and 5840-5843 were among the damaged cars.
  16. So my mom's ranting about a proposed trip to New York City in October 2013 and how I am the only one that will get anything out of it... Great.

Well if it's sightseeing, you could just do some walking thru Central park and the major intersections on Broadway and it won't cost a dime other than if you need to travel by subway or bus. But in a good day you can do most of midtown, Lower Manhattan, and Central park in 2 days.

Well, the most expensive thing is actually getting there. Driving for 750 KM is expensive. Transit is not that expensive by comparison. But yes, I wish to see more of Central Park and whatnot.

  17. If you're going through hell... keep going.

  18. Mind, I wasn't hoping for a tour in the near future, but in about 15-20 years, once it's had enough time to be 'forgotten' about by the general public.
  19. It'd be pretty cool if they did like a 'open doors' event where they did a tour of the loop station. There's a lot of transit agencies in the Toronto area that do that. But it's still probably a pipe dream.
  20. Wow... hit my like quota for the first time in weeks.

  21. Now that is some serious eye candy. It looks great, and I'll probably find good use for that on my fictional subway layout.
  22. Stay safe everyone.
