MTA Bus Operations: Deliveries, Moves & Transfers
JFK Depot replied to T J Trainman's topic in New York City Bus
If they reconfigured 165th Terminal and kinda killed those slanted pull in slots they could finally run Artics on the Q6 My boy and I were discussing this the other night If they remodeled and did away with that extra concrete smooth it out and make it like a bay (similar to the ones on Parsons Archer) it could work... Artics can fit in the current set up now but it's think it's only in 1 slot and to back out would he a headache Do away with backing out and that problem is solved -

9 times outta 10 it's something JFK can't fix so they ship it out to ENY for them to handle it ENY is good with RTS's I realized certain depots are good with certain buses... For example CS is good with Orion V's ... If TA was smart they would've shipped some Bee's to CS to get touched and they might have lasted longer IMO JFK is good with Hybrids.. Which is why they stay getting some shuffled in and out BP is too but there bays aren't as big even with the modifications recently done to there Depot LGA is good at destroying everything but NGs lol smh... -

Smh.. Leaving the depot this morning.. Just alil insight on Jamaica These 4900s are beat up.. I'm thinking when that new order of 40fts come in all these 1999s Novas will get shifted to the new dumping grounds MTABus lol smh I highly doubt these 1999s will touch Bklyn but I could be wrong We did lose some to Flatbush already -
I'm fellow employee myself but it is what it is... Ain't nobody actin holy but at the same time I'm not about to be bashed or disrespected by NOBODY on here... Titles go out the window when disrespect happens Bruh... I'm keeping cool calm and collective and would suggest people do the same Nobody is an internet thug... For the most part we ALL have good jobs in here... so let's not even start with the disrespect plz...
-
Smh at the end of it all I'm done with the topic... Everybody is opinionated I've spoken to RTO myself via messages... It is what it is... Unless any of us was there when things happens... NONE of us know for sure I'm just gonna leave it at that NO disrespect to anyone but that's just the actually factual Take that anyway y'all want... and move on with the topic plz All I did was pass on info... As would anybody else if they were in my shoes
-
Is there a problem ???? There's NO need for you to even come at me in anyway shape or form unless there is an issue because it can definitely be solved ASAP My sources are credible like I said before... Your a foamer... Therefore you run off opinions and NOT facts so unless you KNOW actually RTO supervisor you need NOT to speak disrespectfully There's NO need for it... My source happens to be RTO who speaks with supervisors who KNOW what's going on... I DONT post anything that's NOT factual !!!!!

They are overwhelmed right now... In my opinion I don't think the 1999 Novas are priority in the bays... The 1996 Novas are.. They seem to be fixing those up and shipping them out I hope Jamaica doesn't lose anymore 1999 Novas to Flatbush But every week they seem to lose one or 2 and gain a 96 in return smh On another note the LFS's are starting to look tired too and vandalized they seriously need more than 1 guard overnight at Jamaica -

That bus has been there for alil while already I rode it last week Tuesday to be exact It still has the Bronx Bus Map on it and all All JFK did was change depot logos and put it out there -
Exactly !!!!! Which is why I said I'll leave it at that There is and WILL be people that will doubt and add there 2cents that do work for TA and it's respected but before I release that info I asked my source if I could do so... They told me No Problem..
-
My source is credible... I'll just leave it at that
-
From my understanding they are totally different from the 142A's even down to the throttle control and a lot of the older RTOs don't like that... But I definitely do see some lawsuits coming if they don't get these teething problems fixed ASAP
-
I've heard it from a senior TO yesterday as we were discussing certain transit issues His exact words " a lot of the older guys want nothing to do with the 188 they are running from them " I told him myself to get out the A division in the next pick... If your trying to avoid anything NTT I was also informed on a few swaps that will happen soon... R62 will return to the 4... And those 142A's on the 4 will go to the 6... The 3 will be R62a again... So the 4 will have R62/142s and the 6 will have R62As/142A's
-
This isn't really a service change but due to the fact the 4 isn't running this weekend the 5 is running a couple of 142A sets from the 4 I happened to catch one yesterday evening headed to Dyre Ave.. Very strange to see a Kawasaki in Bombardier territory I didn't get a chance to get a picture of it (I wish I did tho) but I'm sure they are still out there Try to catch one
-
Word is the 188s teething problems are real... My info is from an A Division TO.. Trains have opened up on the wrong side... Uncoupled in service... And from the operational stand point they are injuring older TO's (wrist and hand injuries with the throttle) as they somewhat changed it from the 142/142a specs... A lot of older TO's aren't even trying to qualify on them and with the next pic coming up soon a lot of guys are jumping ship to the B Division just to avoid that altogether... Smh

JFK Depot replied to EE Broadway Local's topic in New York City Subway
I wouldn't merge it with SIR... SIR is spec'd differently from Subway hence the name Railway.. Those R44s they have aren't the same R44s that ran on the A for years... Those are totally different But back to this mystery tunnel I've heard about... Since they did start a tunnel to Staten Island it would be logical to finish it and just run the R to SI... Eventually I do think someone in power with the right mind will push for this expansion... The 7 to Jersey makes sense or they could just continue it down the west side to lower Manhattan too... Since they just extended the 7 I don't see them really looking into any further expansions with that line yet... We'll probably see Metro North to Penn Station before we see the 7 extended again -
Lol well when you think about it who really likes old stuff anyway especially when your used to the new stuff
-
Surprisingly they didn't complain at allAnd I'm a rider who uses Jamaica Center everyday The swap works well If anything the Fulton riders complained once the R32s came back lol

How would the R get to Staten Island really Via Verrazano Bridge or a newly built tunnel ? And then where would it terminate once in Staten Island ? I have an idea for the Staten Island Railway tho.. Establish the north shore already Get those tracks redone and build new stations New Brighton.. Livingston... West Brighton... Elm Park... Mariners Harbor... Arlington... Forest Ave... Goethals Rd... Bloomfield Teleport... West Shore Plaza -
MTA Bus Operations: Deliveries, Moves & Transfers
JFK Depot replied to T J Trainman's topic in New York City Bus
Ok I'm alil confused on this one... So JFK is displacing RTS's to ENY ENY is displacing OG 07s to CS and FP Am I correct so far ? So CS is getting the higher # OG 07s (6800s) and FP is basically getting the ones they sent over years ago back (6500s & 6600s) ? -
Lol they are doing it.... I've seen a few R62a's with the LEDs taken off once they got back to Westchester... Did some railfaning today They going back to old days bro... Take a trip on the 6 for yourself and see
-
Are they doing the R32/R160 C and J train swap again this summer ?
-
It does make sense for Westchester to keep the LED signs... But I guess that more work they DONT wanna do when those LEDs crap out... So they are just scraping the idea altogether

They lost the 4400s for the LFS's But basically the 99 Novas have been the back bone of there fleet for years... I would hate to start working in Jamaica Depot and not be able to at least touch a 99 Nova before everything is said and done... I should be on the road soon
