  1. Bike racks will slow down a SBS, defeats the purpose of SBS
  2. Just thinking Why wouldn't it be NJ transit to handle it ? And what about those workers? They knew their job location before they accepted the gig and should of did some research themselfs IMO.
  3. It's not up to depots to care. It goes above them.
  4. Wait for the snow. The bus stops without shelters are up to DSNY. One more agency in the mix. One big happy family.
  5. There are cold weather plans in place. I don't know the exact numbers but it goes like if outside temp is 10-20 bus may be started and ran for 15 minutes every 2 hours. If it's 0-10 outside busses may be started and ran 15min every hour. Maintenance is usually on top of it. Saves them work later
  6. No. Regular service is priority over shuttles. And even depots that have shuttles going out its usually only a handful.
  7. Throw some out there. Not saying it's not possible but id like to know.
  8. Explain where a 40 footer turns better than a artic where pivot point is shorter than a 40 foot? I never drove one yet but I'd like to know your reasoning.
  9. Some areas might have weight restrictions that can be a concern is all I can think of.
  10. Hard turns besides of how the bus looks is what artic's are good at. Only hills that really would be difficult is the s52/66 I would say. The problem is depots on the island are not equipt to handle the artics as well as alot of routes would need bus stops adjusted or relocated to be longer.
  11. No clue on the pricing of that stuff man.... Above my pay grade... Lol But I can't see them being down for long have to just be waiting on updated software I assume
  12. Yea kind of messed up, although they were not perfect they did work good 75% of the time.
  13. Negative. Alot of them are still on but just show a map, without the route details.
  14. Actually tell them we need triple bus lanes so hopefully one of them might be clear enough to drive through haha.
  15. Why no faith on some issues? You claim improvement elsewhere so why no miracles here ?
  16. I don't think many express riders are basing their trip on what a destination sign says. Maybe there are some out there but it wouldn't be alot. Most people would be checking out the maps on the website or tripplanner etc etc
  17. Well how else would " drivers now hauling ass due to my group" I don't see how any depot SI or not would just be magically hauling ass lol
  18. Negative. There will never be a order or guidance to drive quicker. Union would have a field day is a understatement.
  19. Buses with the Allison transmission you can choose to limit the top gear to be is about all. So if it's a 4 or a 6 speed you can set it to 2 or 3rd gear and it won't pass whatever you set it at.
  20. NG lifts suck btw, but they do have a manual operation if the power does not work.
  21. You would be surprised what done guys carry on them. I used to carry a roll of duct tape and a multi tool when I had busses out of Yukon it was that bad. But never anything where they couldn't fold up the ADA seat. Maybe not move it correctly for a wheelchair but if it folds down it will definitely fold back up. The picture makes me think the operator just did not know how to raise it up as it is slightly different than the local bus.
  22. Might of happened as it was already out? I don't see that happening myself. I seen allot of junk go out but not like that
