  1. Wow, they are calling from the list already? What number are they up to, 6**?
  2. i really wish there was more info on this position. I'm guessing because its not that popular. Not too many people apply for this position like Transit, Police or Sanitation. When I took the exam last year there were only six people including me.
  3. Okay, so I found out a little info: As of now, DCAS is still working on Exam #2324. They are up to list no. 760 . This list number was called the week of August 10. I don't now how many people took the exam, but I doubt it's more than 1,000. Whenever they are done with that exam, I believe #3306 and 3307 are next before they call the exams from last year. I think less than 1,000 people took the exams 3306 and 3307. When I find out the exact numbers, I will post. The link below gives more insight to the MVO position. https://www.civilservicejobnyc.com/job-focus-motor-vehicle-operator-mvo/
  4. Yeah, not anything online regarding MVO. If I am fortunate enough to get hired I will ask Young if I can post the hiring process, promotional opportunities, and exact job duties for those interested.
  5. I believe once you successfully pass the medical, you are offered a training date. It can range anywhere from two weeks to four weeks. It all depends on what training classes are open the day your hired, which is the same day you pass the medical. I hope I made sense MTA MAC!
  6. Wow, they seem to be slowing down the process a bit. A few months ago they were full speed with calling us for drug tests! I wonder what number they are up to now? My list # is in the 800's so if they do call it probably won't be this year.
  7. I am hoping for NYPD or FDNY. Honestly, I never saw a woman driving for FDNY so I will rule them out. I'm not really excited for Dept of Ed or Housing, but beggars can't be choosers!
  8. Wow, thanks Young. That was really quick. I didn't think that list would be established any time soon. You have a great list number, if they call you would you still wait for MTA or take the position?
  9. That is so screwed up for everyone ready for schoolcar. My list # is 8** and I did the drug test in June. I'm not in a hurry for the medical "if" they do call me in...
  10. Wow! I always thought it was a prerequisite to be a dispatcher first. You can become a supt depending on how long you were a bus operator?
  11. I can understand that, it was kinda hard...but why (OA) as well? They didn't even establish a list for exam #7105. Also, aren't they still calling from exam# 4105?
  12. Whew...that's good! I got my info from a conductor that lives in my apartment building.
  13. Jay-Oh, Do you know if there will be other classes after the August one? I'm hearing after August thats it for this year for provisional T/O...
  14. Last year I took Exam 8302 and scored a 90%. Does anyone know when I will receive the final exam score and the list is certified? I believe they are still appointing from Exam #2324...
  15. Ohh noo, Starr...it was JV620 that received the pre-employment letter and gave you the salary info...oops! MTA Bus is not even near my list#!!!
  16. Yes, there is parking. It is located on Livingston St...on the same side as the transit building...on the corner. It is a weird looking outdoor parking lot with car lifts. I don't know the rates...I usually take public transportation to get there because it's a hot mess on Livingston St. There are other parking garages, but it is so congested in that area I couldn't tell you. The whole employment process depends on you. For example a friend of mine who is at Springcreek line training was hire by MTA Bus in one week. The day of his pre-employment he already had his CDL and all necessary documents, so he took his drug test the same day. They emailed him three days later for medical and he went the next day. He took the medical and passed the same day and he was fingerprinted and went to training two weeks later. The process is smooth if you have it together...Good Luck!
  17. Starr, I also received a letter that I passed...list #25**. MTA has a habit/pattern of calling the first 1000 quickly from every exam. I don't think they will reach 3000 by the end of the summer. However, they are starting early for this exam... so you never know. For the p/t bus operator exam# 7304, they started calling around the same time last year and I don't think they hit 3000 yet. But correct me if I'm wrong...
  18. True, but I think after a certain time you become full time. My friend just started at Springcreek and he was told about 8 months...give or take...
  19. Good question...did they even start calling from this list yet?
  20. I'm sorry, I don't know too much about T/O...what is T/O (Yard)? As you can see, I ain't ready for this...I just learned about A & B Divisions...
  21. I really hope they pass me this year...or maybe at least until December...I'm not prepared to give them my life yet! With this job you have to completely devote yourself and I'm not ready to do that right now...
  22. Seriously? My list# is 8**...I'm glad they are calling people, but this is a little too fast. I hope if they get to me it's sometime next year.
  23. And, I hate to sound negative, but what if you decline this offer and full time doesn't come thru...damn!
