  1. SEPTA NFXHE40 701 has landed. These buses, numbered 701-710 will be assigned to Midvale Depot
  2. There were problems from the very start. wiring, emergency exit windows, and failed watertightness and brake-test failures were the biggest issues that have plagued these cars since the first 2 cars were built. So for all the excitement about the bi-level cars, it’s gone out the window
  3. The reason it’s not done by rail because of previous accidents on the tracks. So They use 3 to 5 oversize fit trucks to deliver them to Brooklyn. They are lead by either a pickup truck or a car with yellow sirens on them to let other vehicles know to pass them. These excess weight trucks have a restriction on speed.
  4. I wouldn’t even list them as this. I’ll go as what’s in service, what’s in BIT, and what got here. All others it’s just wait & see
  5. It’s there only for CBTC testing only.
  6. 6 cars on the (7), especially during baseball games? That’s pathetic! They should’ve treated baseball fans of yesteryear than what they do today. I only counted off peak hours, not peak because most of the lines were full length, with the exception of the & the . The very short AA becomes the long CC during peak hours, so they do share the same car lengths
  7. 4-6 weeks. Remember: cars must be redeemed “Safe to operate” by said yard before it can be placed in revenue service. So far, 13 R211As and 2 R211T sets (130/20) are in service.
  8. You have to factor that: 1. It has to go to CI for installation of gates and programing 2. then it goes from CI to Pitkin fir training and non revenue burn in 3. once it is deemed ready, the cars will enter service.
  9. Unless you have been to the Kawasaki plant, do you have any sources confirming that these cars up to 4309 have been built?
  10. So many breakdowns, especially on the R17/21/22 cars. Many of these cars has massive flats. I lived to see a train being taking out of service because of flats. R21 7156 on the was a problem and a half! It was good for 3 stops: (174th to Simpson), but after it, the train pulled hard, causing the trune wheels to break, then it ran from Simpson all the way to 149th St-GC before the motorman discharged everybody off. That whole time, I heard the dispatcher saying discharge at 149th St, and take the train to the Concourse Yard, so the train went oos carrying that car plus 7561+8924-8925+7140+7553+9014-9015+9032-9033. The train reversed and stayed on the middle track on the to BPB.
  11. The shortening of lengths go way back to the mid to late 1970s and it follows during off peak hours on evenings, nights and weekends: , & : 5 cars : 8 cars : 6 cars : 8 cars : 4 R44 cars and 6 R38 cars : 4 cars at all times except peak and nights , , , {6th Ave Local from 57th St}: 8 cars , : 4 cars R46 , , : 4 cars All other subway lines did not operate. the & all lines are normal
  12. Don’t forget the R211Ts on the C
  13. The only way that the MTA is gonna change for the better isn’t done by the MTA themselves. History traces way back to where merges are a thing now. You saw how private bus companies were being taken over when they’re bankrupt, they sell their assets to the city themselves. The BOT took over every bus company from 1940-1950, then were succeeded by the in 1953 until 1968 when the took over. Only one bus company is off the MTA: Long Island Bus, now Nassau Inter County Express. In 2011, the MTA forced LIB to pay its fare share or have a draconian cuts to its routes. Nagano said “Hell No” and the agreement ended. On 1/1/2012, LIB became NICE. so there could be a new company if someone can get things: 1. start up 2. signatures
  14. You just stole my words what I was about to say. If you and the rest of your NIMBY friends and neighbors said no to the Airtrain to LGA, then Mets-Willits Point (Willits Point Blvd originally, and a local station to top it off) would’ve been accessible maybe either now or next year. Be careful of what you wish for! What you didn’t wanted back then is now what you regret now.
  15. You need equal trains to make service, not one less. There are WAAAAAAAAAY 2 many errors to make it real. This is an April Fools lame joke. Cause, right now, you need to go to Ohio and tell them you made a BIIIIIGGGGGG mistake
  16. They already got their XD40 orders in. So there’s no use of bringing back the NXG Orion 7s
  17. You also gotta remember: the A/C share R46 cars minus 1 train set, but that soon is gonna change in time
  18. Sets are in 0-4 & 5-9, not 1-5 & 6-0.
  19. On going 2023-2025 NFXD40s with BAEs on them 3525-3864 so far: 3525-3594 to Southern 3595-3639 to Frontier 3640-currently 3669 to Callowhill
  20. Route 15 is where you will find older buses. If you want your last rides on the 81xx series, you better do it now. With Callowhill District now getting the new 36xx series NFXDE40s with BAEs on them, which is replacing the DE41LFs. 3000-3524 are 2017-2021 XDE40s their current roster looks: 3000-3059 at Callowhill (10, 15, 21, 30, 31, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 52, 65) 3060-3084 at Victory (103-123, 125-126) 3085-3123 at Southern (G, 2, 4, 7, 17, 29, 37, 45, 47, 57, 64, 68, 79) 3124-3129, 3190-3229 at Frontier (90-99, 124, 127-133, 139, 150, 201, 206) 3130-3169 at Frankford (J, K, R, 1, 3, 5, 8, 19, 25, 67, 73, 88 {59, 66, 75} ) 3170-3189 at Comly (BD, 1, 14, 19, 20, 24, 28, 50, 58, 67, 70, 78, 84, 88) 3230-3254, 3295-3344 at Midvale (H, L, XH, 2, 4, 16, 18, 22, 23, 26, 32, 35, 47, 53, 55, 56, 57, 61, 62, 77, 80, 89) 3255-3274 at Victory 3275-3294, 3345-3364 at Frankford 3365-3384 at Comly 3385-3409 at Callowhill 3410-3434 at Allegheny (6, 33, 48, 49, 54, 60) 3435-3454 at Southern 3455-3504 at Victory 3505-3524 at Frankford
