  1. The BxM1 should not be touching 5th Ave at all. It adds at least 15 min every time they get off the 5th Ave exit and have to crawl through Harlem before getting to Lexington/96th St.
  2. I've been advocating that the BxM2 remain the West Side express for awhile, and use the HH Pkwy from Dyckman St. (I've been on some Manhattan bound runs that do that when I'm the only one on board, going to 34th st. Its a 30 min ride tops). Also the M98 should be a full time route that runs down to 34th St again, or even 23rd. I'd also advocate for a new route, M99, to run between Inwood and Lex/3rd Avs via the HRD, thus eliminating all BxM1 inwood service
  3. sounds reasonable. The always operated on its own in a way and not tied together with the in terms of fleet and TPH
  4. Which will be the first line to get the new trains? Which was the first to get the R142/A's? and which were the last to give up the redbirds, (other than the ) ?
  5. The neoplans are retiring and this makes me feel old. Does anyone remember when the were the NEW buses in the fleet. Around late 2001 they made their first appearances looking very modern as they replaced the older than dirt MAN artics. Time goes by so fast
  6. The service also won't really be improved until you insist on the drivers hauling ass with these buses. Express buses aren't meant to be slow and many of the drivers are driving like old ladies now.
  7. Weekday night northbound BxM3 trips after 10:00 always switch off with the BxM4 in which ones the MTA will send out and which ones they won't. Friday night, the 10:05PM northbound BxM3 never showed up and on Sunday afternoon, the 3:30PM southbound BxM1 never showed. Mid-late afternoon southbound trips tend to have this problem from time to time on the BxM1/2, especially on weekends. also, outside of Rush Hour, no express buses should be going through Inwood at all unless they are making stops there. The whole process to get to the HRD can take 15-20 minutes.
  8. nyc buses, especially express buses should not be governed at all. unleash them and feel the power as they zoom down the highway
  9. When there's not a lot of passengers on an express route, the driver should take short cuts to the specific stops that the passngers need. Example, if nobody is using Inwood on a Riverdale bound BxM1, the driver should skip Inwood.
  10. Get these express bus drivers to get to their destination as fast as possible. During the nonstop section, GO WHERE THE TRAFFIC ISNT. If there's not a lot of riders on the bus, ask them where they're getting off, and go off route to get to those stops quicker.......! Also, dont be afraid to drive fast
  11. I'm just excited there will be a direct connection between the and the PATH
  12. Liberty Lines Express was the best of all the PBL express services. Those MCI classics were speeding bullets on the deegan, and service was mostly on time.
  13. The will probably make every BxM1 stop in Inwood eventually despite them having no business being there. They'd be smarter if the introduced a new route (we'll call it M99) from Inwood to Lex Ave/34th St like the M98 does almost.
  14. Something has gotta get the BxM4 off the concourse, and have it EXPRESS up to the North Bronx somehow. Maybe extend it further north into Yonkers itself. I think the BxM3 would get some North Riverdale ridership on Riverdale Ave with my proposed revision.... What's your take(s)?
  15. There isnt much ridership on the BxM3 from Yonkers to begin with.
  16. It'd be a quicker and more efficient ride for North Riverdale riders on the new revised BxM3 which may attract more ridership from up there. Not many riders use Broadway north of Mosholu Ave to begin with (especially in Yonkers). Same with the new Woodlawn-Sedgwick Ave BxM4
  17. HERE IS A MAJOR EXPRESS BUS PROPOSAL FOR YONKERS ROUTES BXM1, BXM2, BXM3, AND BXM4 BxM1/2: They are truncated to 246th St and exclusively serve South Riverdale where most of their ridership comes from. BxM3: Sedgwick Ave service is cut out, and goes straight to Broadway, then Mosholu Ave, 254th St, and Riverdale Ave all the way to Getty Sq. BxM4: Redirected from the Concourse to the Deegan, then serves Sedgwick Ave, gets back on the Deegan at Van Cortlandt and shoots up to Woodlawn. Use the for the Concourse. These will be the following stops for each bus. BxM1/2 HH Pkwy/246th St HH Pkwy/239th St HH Pkwy/235(6)th St HH Pkwy/232nd St HH Pkwy/227th St Kappock St/Knolls Crescent Kappock St/Johnson Ave Johnson Ave/Irwin Ave 230th St/Tibbett Ave 230th St/Bway BxM3 Getty Square Riverdale Ave/Vark St Riverdale Ave/Ludlow St Riverdale Ave/Valentine Ln Riverdale Ave/261st St Riverdale Ave/259th St Riverdale Ave/256th St Riverdale Ave/254th St Mosholu Ave/Fieldston Rd Bway/Mosholu Ave Bway/254th St Bway/Lakeview Pl Bway/251st St Bway/246th St BxM4 Katonah Ave/242nd St Katonah Ave/237th St Katonah Ave/234th St 233rd St/Kepler Ave 233rd St/Oneida Ave 233rd St/Napier Ave Van Cortlandt Park S/Bailey Ave Sedgwick Ave/Van Cortlandt Ave W Sedgwick Ave/Giles Pl Sedgwick Ave/Ft Independence St Sedgwick Ave/197th St Sedgwick Ave/Kingsbridge Rd Sedgwick Ave/Bailey Ave Sedgwick Ave/Webb Ave
  18. southbound Bx7s should run along 230th St between Riverdale Ave & bway. Not touch 231st at all
  19. I like your mentality. If I saw a R62A I'd jump on that faster than you can blink. And as far as R32s go, I'm really trying to catch one on the . I wanna feel the express speed in a 32
  20. Bronx: Bx3, Bx7, Bx9, Bx10, Bx12, Bx20, Bx22 (Fordham Ctr), Bx23, Bx26, Bx30, Bx31, Bx34, Bx55 (Fordham Ctr) Manhattan: M2, M5 (Wash Hts-Greenwich Village), M9 (City Hall-Peter Cooper Vill), M12, M15 LTD (City Hall-E Harlem), M98, M100 Queens: Q5, Q12, Q17, Q28, Q32, Q33, Q35, Q50, Q67, Q85, Q88, Q112, Q113 Staten Island: S74, S79-SBS
  21. Two nights ago my train went express on the local track from West 4th-34th St.
  22. Why don't they just send both the and the down to South Ferry on weekends until the construction is finished?
  23. Don't know why they ever stopped the weekend service, or at least revived it in February 2004. At the very least the is the better of the two CPW locals
  24. Whenever I've been at any stop for the I've always seen more s than s. I cant think of the last time I remember a showing up first.
  25. Sounds similar to the old weekend service between 21st St and Coney Island via 63rd St
