  1. NICE should set its differences aside and reconcile with powerhouse MTA. ..by then 3/4 of all discontinued routes would be resuscitated (especially the n19 Sunrise mall-Babylon. And the whole n20) BTW the n20G shouldn't have existed since it has 80% its stops in queens and 20% in Nassau (county this route belongs to)...as such it should be remembered (and hence be transferred to the MTA as the Q90 (MTA Bus)
  2. Theres no need to make a LTD bus route on NICE. ..since those buses are quite fast. ..but some may work like on the n22/24 and the ex n20 as they bypass wasting time points. (RFM , Great Neck or Roslyn) Is like the q20 and q44...the q20 is more quicker than the q44 because it receives less passengers counts and it run . Fast as well as it doesn't stay stuck in flushing for quite a while (hate when the q44 does that)...to me a SBS on the q44 was a waste of money heck even the m15 is more quicker and is in Manhattan the borough with a semaphore at every block
  3. You know im in accord with checkmate 13 Thescheduling of the n70/71/72 at night is off course The last n70 departs Melville at 9:01pm and would arrive at itinerary (i chose Levittown as a sample) at 9:25pm The Last n72 departs Babylon at 9:15pm andwould arrive itinerary at 9:45pm (20 minutes after n70 passed) The last n71departs Sunrise Mall at 9:59pm and would arrive itinerary at. 10:20Pm (35 minutes after n72 passed) Like i proposed the n72 should depart at 9:25pm not only to connect to the s40 but to have a coordinated scheduling. ..if the n72departs such timing tthen the scheduling would be as follow: Itinerary Levittown n70 9:25pm n72 9:55pm (30 minutes after n70 passed) n71 10:20pm (25 minutes after n72 passed) The scheduling is all bad coordinated. ..NICE should fix this scheduling for the two reasons And yes the next bus would be the n72 (from farmingdale at 11:pm (40minutes from last n71s) Also that same last n72 from Babylon is the same one that would arrive at 8:56pm...so in the case it would depart the driver would have a rest of nearly half an hour so it would benefit the bus operator as well.
  4. Well it just has to get accustomed to the new modifications. ..hope someday a miracle can happen I guess all this discussion of the last runs has something to do for people who lack in waking up early Guess I'll have to tell the semilast s40 (8:30pm) to make it before 9:15pm to connect the n72...after all a s40evening run patchogue to Babylon is 40-45 minutes RIP n19 Suffolk segment may you repose quietly thank you for all your service. ..NICE bus #1726 would be considers (as well as the LAST n20 to flushing bus disc code) sacred Lets just change subject...go on
  5. The LIRR is easily supplementing the n19 bus east of Sunrise mall...the railway is easily winning support because of its low cost...but here's to it, the $3 fare applies for ride between Babylon all the way to Rockville Centre in other words a user heading from Rockville Centre to points east of Sunrise mall can say who cares about the truncation of the n19 since the differences between the bus fare and the rail fare is a mere 25cents. ($3.00 compared to $2.75) and absurd. ..now lets talk about a ride from Babylon or points between Babylon and R.C. the railway fare is $6.50(more than 2 times more the base bus tariffs) But hey is the burbs and in the suburbs all is to it ride on cars or lirr and waste 2-5 times of a regular bus fare Now about the Montauk hwy segment that all depends of SCT and a possible extension of the s40 and Leave the s20 as that route serves as a parallel route and supplemental service (that is a Plan B)...also i guess my best suggestion for a passenger taking a M-F 8:30pm bus from Patchogue. (s40) is to tell the driver to make it at. Between 9:10pm and 9:15pm and catch up with the Last n72 bus. ..at evening hours a s40 bus takes 40-45 minutes to make the full route and if it leaves 8:30pm sharp then it would arrive before 9:15pm and thus make fairly easy connection.with the n72 (Last unit) There's also a plan B making s40 extended to Sunrise mall to supplement the discontinued service of the n19.. Is sad that Suffolk county transit recauds far less more money than NICE but at least they care of the users. Like the case of the s66 extension to Riverhead or having the last s58 depart Riverhead at 6:45pm (before was at 5:45pm) and especially the new departure of a s92 from Orient Point at 6:40pm full route to East Hampton SCT has made quite minor improvements and have fairly nice bus fleet and very nice bus drivers (possibly the most nicest jointly to cross sound CT Transit) NOT like NICE. ..that name shouldn't even been made...heck the acronym of NICE is Nassau Inter-County Express NOT i repeat NOT Intra-County. ..there's an E not an A in the last word of INTER NICE knowing to be more richer than SCT is very greedy and cheapskate and to top it all out it buys new and expensive bus fleets heck leave the 90s bus fleet to 2020 and case dismissed NICE isn't nice at all theyre MICE. >
  6. If so much dealing with NICE buses in Suffolk county then eliminate all service of the n55,70,72 and 79 east of the border. ..all NICE wants is within Nassau county they dont care of the best of the users just themselves ...i think that the n72 is alive still because it like the n78 passed just barely the umbral test...that is all service east of farmingdale on the n72 and all n78...as for the n55 its terminus at Amityville is at use because of its very close to the sunrise mall (about 1km ) and won't waste too much gasoline but Amityville falls between Suffolk county jurisdiction but it has close ties to Nassau county since sunrise mall is more close to amityville centre than to Massapequa park ctr Another thing the s20,33 can't be scrapped from terminating at the mall just because it is in Nassau county. ..sunrise mall is a parody of the green acres mall..two MTA buses terminate there and thus leaving the city limits for a few blocks. ..the s20,33 only passes two blocks west of the line until it terminates at the mall P.s:I'm not favouring scrapping NICE routes. From Suffolk county I'm very in favour it was just a sarcastic speech not to be minded seriously Heck im still mourning the truncation of the n19 and seperation of the n20.
  7. Well let me say that i rode in which was the LAST n19 bus from Babylon to Freeport via Sunrise mall...the bus route disc number #1726 departed Babylon with 2 passengers (incl myself) and received a third passenger in copiague. ..it arrived Sunrise Mall at 10:05pm departed 10:10pm and received 5 passengers. ..the route received two more passengers in itinerary. .in total it transported 10 passengers (3 east of Sunrise and 7 west of Sunrise) ...it arrived at 10:40pm Freeport Also at Babylon i also took photos of the Last n72 and received 6 passengers As said i was to say farewell to the n19 Babylon- Freeport. ..i also sell farewell to the n20 route from Flushimg to Hicksville Now here's where is my suggestion. ..as i took the n20 to Hicksville i chose to transfer to the n79 which i ALMOST missed transfer but luckily the n79 arrived late...i rode to WWM and connected to the s54 to patchogue which i saw a whole different look on the VERY NEW Bus hub adjacent the RR Station with three bus shelters (totally New) and two totally new and shiny bus stop signs. ..the bus transfer at the court site is obsolete and the area where the s40 and s66 picked up was redesigned as marked parking spots even the bus shelters were torn down so sad but heck that bus hub was too far away from the train station Now i boarded the last s40 at 7:30pm and the bus arrived at 8:15pm. ..which means that it takes nominal 45 minutes for a s40 to run from patchogue to Babylon. ..in other cases from M-F if i take the s40 departing at 8:30pm towards Babylon it should arrive at on time 9:15Pm at right time to the LAST n72..that semi last s40 should arrive at 9:13-9:14pm to coordinate with the last n72 which is trur now the n72 departs at 9:15pm and not 9:20pm NICE must readjust the n72 scheduling
  8. Iforgot to say that traffic signal at WWMall (access road and at nys110 and nys25 is a real killer takes almost 10 minutes to just leave the mall area and climb the hill side) But you're right that may be the problem. ..as the fact that accessing the state buildings in Hauppauge and Macy's in commack is to wait a longggg traffic signal since you're heading westward and not due east (much like the s66 suffers when it enters SCCC in riverhead due to patchogue )
  9. YEah you're right that crossing is dangerous i myself am paranoid of touching the rail lines gets me goosebumps that may get shock hehe But the delay ain't that much to tell (a mere minute and a half) is like IF you're boarding a wheelchair passenger (which would take more time than the stopping in a RR toll booth like stopping sticks)...speaking of wheelchair i must add that wheelchair pay their fare in SCT (even a half fare at must)...why is it that in the MTA don't pay absolutely nothing and waste valuable 3 minutes of time that really is bad thing to do
  10. I'm surprised that the s54 is unreliable having open roads throughout its route. ..a normal s54 trip takes average 1h20 minutes to complete the route I remember last may i took the 9am s54 to patchogue and it arrived at 10:29pm just intime to the s66 bus to Riverhead Also two months ago i awaited a 4:30pm s54...it no show and the 5pm showed up at 5:15pm...i said is too late for to take the route since i had to take the 430p and arrive Hauppauge at 500pm and not 5:45pm I want to know when in the particular route does the s54 gets caught on traffic?
  11. Well it does read. "Patchogue RR" and thus should terminate adjacent to the station. I was worried since in the RR station can accommodate many buses simultaneously The courts bus stop should be the second to last stop on all bus lines terminate in patchogue (which i mean all of them) since it is the central stop to nearby main street. ..the walk from the RR stop to main st ain't that close a 10 minute walk might say
  12. Wait a minute so the transit lot. Of patchogue is obsolete no longer at use...all SCT buses terminating at. Patchogu . Will be at. The. RR. Station and not atthe lot
  13. Yeah but you self said about the scheduling of that specific n72 being in the turnpike 35 minutes behind the n70 and ahead of the n71 by 20 minutes and that evenly the n72 to leave at 9:25pm to enable connection with the s40 at ease Not to myself but in general speaking for Nassau county residents or even the passengers residing in the corridor of NYS 109 the n72 departing 10 minutes late can benefit many Nassau residents residing in the n72 routing. ..you enlightened clearly the main reason why must the n72 depart at 9:25pm (that would also go in general to the 8:25,7:25,etc) But NICE must figure out what to do i mean you're right there's no way another bus fleet would be use but the resting bus that was scheduled to depart at 9:15 to 9:25pm For all the n19 is a poor route east of sunrise but was a plan B...but we're talking about a busy route in a busy roadway and reaches to users
  14. Touche but a mere 10 minute await won't hurt the industry of NICE. ..the n72 wouldn't be suffering this problem if the n19 wouldnt be truncated All is for making petitions to nice just like they made for the n2/8 bus lines
  15. P.S: thanks for understanding my Point of view checkmatechamp13 That's the whole reason of this mini discussion
  16. LEts not forgot that the last n71leaving sunrise mall and n72 leaving Babylon after arriving Hempstead it deadheads towards the garage so its no difference between the n72 thar left Babylon and the semilast n72 departing from farmingdale (10:35pm) which the Babylon n72 would arrive farmingdale at 10:05pm if the n72 departs at 9:25 pm from Babylon hence only a half hour difference in timing as after the 10:35pm bus from farmingdale the next bus scheduling is the last bus (11:35pm) arriving Hempstead at 12:15pm Like a fellow follower said NICE only commands service within Nassau county very much it does to enhance better service for buses to operate in Suffolk county In conclusion exist two methods * have the n72 departs 9:25pm (time it would receive the transferring passengers from the s40) * have the 8:30pm s40 from patchogue extended to amityville (or sunrise mall if it is good for SCT) arrive at 9:45-9:50pm right ontime to connecting the Last n55 bus bound for Hempstead (departing at 10:00pm) The main Point is a better connection for a s40 to a NICE bus...let's not have the SCT buses without connection to Nassau county SCT can eliminate the s20 and fuse it with the s40 and get lots of money
  17. Nassau iscconsidered a thruway since im heading from ruverhead to NYC But hey you got a point taken as it would aleve passengers heading to Nassau You said about the timing and scheduling For better scheduling have the last n71 depart at 10:10pm and not 9:58pm and n72 stays with the 9:25pm departure. ..remember NICE must focus easy access to Nassau at a cheap cost they must remember they'r . Not part of the MTA but running SOLO
  18. 9:15Pm Now thats more killer NICEisn't so nice byhaving the last n72 not connecting with the semi last s40...a $2.75 fare between patchogue and Hempstead is a bargain If only the last s58 connects with the last s54 at commack at 8:25pm i wouldn't be too much in distress to the elimination of the n19 in Suffolk and the n72 It is to come to mind that the last units must always. leave latesince there the last runs and have a waiting up to 5 minute late to depart. I wish a petition can be made for the n72 to leave at 9:25pm and thus have the connection with the s40 We have to economize in these times were living nowadays
  19. Theproblem with the s20 isthat it ends too eearly 6pm latest The only option NICE has to make some of us forget the n19 from Babylon to freeport is have the last n72 leave 5 minutes late (9:25pm) OR have the last unit leave just as the semilast s40 pulls in the RR station and receives the connectors (semilast s40 arrives between 9:20-9:25p ) And thetransfer between s33 and n72 is at far less popular
  20. The s94 is a busline that should run year round Then againn most visitors come to thelighthouse summer periods only. ..also it terminates at the central gazebo of montauk and not the RR station So a visitor coming from outside must disembark at East Hampton andcconnect. To the SCT 10C and then transfer. To the s94 since montauk station is far away from the central Square lacking a free shuttle connecting station to main Square. ..the fare tomontauk is the same as to East Hampton as both stations are at zone 14 Lets not forget that east of E. Hampton there are no bus stops except on the gazebo and at the lighthouse so flagging is very optional
  21. YOu know they should make better pedestrian bridges instead of having too many traffic signals The aforementioned one that the n22 gets stuck for quite a long time and especially the ones adjacent to sunrise mall really ticks one off...then again the signals mostly works for automobiles and not pedestrians. ..my bad thought I was in NYC area where there's a traffic signal in every block intersection
