  1. That's good to know. [emoji4] Honestly, I would only use Limiteds in a hurry. And often, I'm not in a real hurry. People who don't take their time planning their commutes ruin everyone else's. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  2. I believe someone mentioned they were waiting for this service change to happen. Well, here's a picture. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  3. Good to know. Another question? Why do they call it Prospect Park instead of Lincoln Road? I noticed the walkways on [emoji578] Brighton line stations still have legacy signage, kinda like the signage at Willet's Point Boulevard. What do those encircled numbers represent? ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  4. I've experienced this before. But after 10 PM I pressure the operator to ????Request-A-Stop????. I believe the M101/102 do run local at night, but LIMITED service runs within the ????Request-A-Stop???? window. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ???? I've noticed that some 1200 buses from the GH depot have those blue spotlights next to the front route signage. When they're used as SBS they fire blue light intermittently. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  5. They should call it Brighton 6th Street, after the main exit stair. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  6. Would the renovations at 121st St have anything to do with that or are they just doing some overdue freshening? ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ???? Do you think it'd be more Interesting to see the Hudson Bergen Light Rail serve the North Shore? ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? 7. I'm basing that off a text query I made to a Q50 right after I missed one. That's why I included it in my answer as an example. I've been accused of that a lot. But I did cite an experience related to why you might have seen "bus not scheduled." At least I didn't gloat. I stayed on topic. I acknowledge what may irk forum members and I consider it in every reply. Easy now...[emoji29] ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  8. That's why I included it as an example of "bus not scheduled". ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  9. If the bus is more than twenty minutes between stops it does thatIf you do a query for a BM4 on a Sunday, or for a Q50 right after you saw it leave. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  10. I'm not going to elaborate on this any further. I'm on this forum to contribute my experiences and to tell my story with regards to public transit. Your remarks do not deserve validation. If you do not believe my story, then stop wasting your IME on me if you truly feel I'm a charlatan. But my contributions are real and my passions are legit: https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/113740561882628613338/ I will bypass your remarks from here on out as they ARE offensive and a detriment/distraction. At the very least, follow me on the social networks in my signature and stop jumping to conclusions. Your vitriol throughout my time on this site is overbearing.
  11. That's a rather offensive accusa How dare you. My EasyPay card is my pride and joy. I may be bombastic, but I am not shallow. Frugal, but no cheapskate. The service sucks, but I do practice what I preach. I pass by dozens of transit police every day. That kind of hypocrisy combined with my posting habit would have already sold me out. I don't cut corners with my MetroCard.
  12. Our buses do hit the high water mark. Have you ever rode the #40 to or from Wakefield in the afternoon? That bus passes by several colleges so I can assure you, we deal with crowds. We have several buses that pass by high profile locations that pack the buses rather quickly. The #20 passes by several shopping centers, a subway and a casino. Afternoons those buses are filled solid, even on a Sunday. In fact, that's largely fhe reason the #20 has the most packed Sunday schedule. Unlawful might have been harsh for terms. Nonetheless it is uncomfortable, for both the riders and the operator. My concern has been unruliness. Regarding the fare box question, my answer was meant for as I boarded. I simply u-turn off the bus and wait for the next one. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  13. It hurts to swipe, trust me. I'm just more willing to make a few sacrifices for my monthly. I value my monthly in a higher regard than my Visa card. My transit budget was always my highest priority after my phone bill. I'm very frugal with my meager income... ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  14. That was because someone mentioned my suburban origins and that's the posted capacity for Neoplans (articulated buses used by Bee Line). I'm more jaded than that. I just find the after school crowding obnoxious and dangerous. These brats are walking vitriol. If everyone paid their fare I wouldn't even complain. It's not commercially sustainable to have crowds that don't pay. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ???? Trust me. I put up with a lot. I tweet less than 10% of my concerns. Modesty is an asset down here. Standing out is not. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ???? My concern is about overcrowding and how the resulting environment causes ridership to shy away. These operators are human beings and I do think some of these freeloaders miss that point that the money comes from somewhere. Paying less will not make the fare go down. In fact, it punishes us all by increasing the deficit (currently $38 billion). ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  15. Our 'burb buses can seat 59 and stand 19, given that NYCT buses are smaller in headway. I'm quite tolerant despite being an upstater, but some riders push their luck. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ???? They usually cover it with a flimsy Xfer slip. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ???? Those guidelines are often disregarded. The crowds are unnatural even for the jaded. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  16. Not crowding by freeloaders. Lately, I've been passing up buses with broken fare boxes. I don't care how bad it is outside. At least I can breathe. People will pile drive a bus with no farebox in inclement weather. No bus is designed to handle crowding. It's unlawful, actually. Buses, like eateries and auditoriums, have an allowed amount before it becomes a safety concern. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  17. Yes, because the crowds will still form inside the bus. !???? ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  18. as have I. In cold weather, I hate to wait, but I feel less comfortable in a sweaty crowded bus with 90s mildew...
  19. I did that once. During the NY Transit Museum bus festival, I did an all bus ride from Co-op City to Far Rockaway. I got to Mott Avenue by sunset. My longest wait times were at the Lower East Side (B39) & West Harlem (M10). Those buses are rotting in the Eastchester Depot with missing bumpers, popped tires & dented sides. I pass by every day.
  20. I usually tweet about it. Include the Bus Lot number, Control ID, Bus route & cardinal direction. Use hashtags to classify what kind of complaint you have. I use #fareevasion, #rowdiness, #overcrowding #buzzed #Xfergiveaway & #gotpunked, to name a few. XD
  21. Life isn't fair. But if you do something about it, it could be easier to bear.

  22. That big break that I thought would never happen - $2.75 until 2019...

  23. The Myrtle Avenue viaduct. What a frickin mess.

  24. thanks for clarifying that. Another question - taking note of the signage at DeKalb Avenue, did 2nd Avenue play a role in allowing service on the West End center track?
  25. Oh. I feel so dumb... XD There are center tracks at some of the stations that are currently disused. I believe you could snake the through that section. Out of curiosity, when the operated via Queens Boulevard, what was the doing other than 6th Avenue?
