  1. based on the details you guys provided, the GTFS is getting updated the weekend before the signage gets power. Works for me. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  2. After perusing comments I figured that out too. On Tapatalk I'm given the first page instead of the last read comment. Sometimes I reply to old comments not knowing they're old. I believe @Turtle called it necroposting. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  3. They're making splendid progress with countdown clocks. GTFS feed already half done. If your countdown clocks aren't yet live, you can always view the feed itself. Or When the screens are off. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  4. Does anyone notice the wheel isn't connected to the chair? Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  5. @Daniel_The_cool: I didn't ack the difference between FINDS and the actual strip maps but @RailRunBob sums it up:
  6. Funny you mention that. Does anyone else notice a screeching sound on R46 & R68 trains along 53rd St (MANHTN), 7th & Flatbush , and Queensbridge? Is it the walling, the trains, or Platform controller's audio feedback? Is it possible to transplant R160 Strip maps on R142-R143 cars? They're both Panasonic, or no?
  7. However, the strip maps are still mismatched. They light up in the right areas, but they're using cars with strip maps. Is there a way to label it a but use a strip map, or should they just shut it off? A lot of scratching heads on the today...
  8. I do appreciate the criticism. I figured I miscalculated somewhere. It helps me learn a little more about the dysfunction. As long as you include valuable information in your replies, I'm ok with my ideas being shot at. You guys know the nooks & crannies of this system quite well. I'd say the Swiss cheese holes in my know-how are 40% smaller since I joined. ???? Glad to be here. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  9. You have a point. Another suggestion, slightly muted: Bring the back to Queens Boulevard as an eight car at the expense of shortening cars to eight, and cutting the back to its roost in the West End. Double down on service along 6 Ave or funnel part time service in the (M)'s place, since the routes exit Manhattan the same way. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  10. How about swapping the for the ? The can go local to 71 Ave and then local to Parsons & the to Ditmars Boulevard. Then the can skip the local stops. I make the suggestion because the and manifest is exceedingly long. I also nominate the as Astoria Express. Is this feasible? I know it won't happen though. Any conductor worth their time knows it takes too (F)n long to cross Queens Boulevard by rail. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  11. Funding my monthly will now take a mortgage of my soul to keep up... O.O"

  12. My mistake. You're right. Thanks for clarifying that. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  13. I thought the snow tracks meant something. How dim of me. I can't believe a cheesy joke went over MY head. That's all I joke about...[emoji29] Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  14. I just finished reading it. I also went over the footnotes. These were the victims of cost overruns, and there was a tidbit in which Kawasaki & Alstom protested the contract with the warnings that have now amounted to current problems. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  15. The bus on the right is used more than the bus on the left, which is an older model. I see one more hidden message: "Out with the old, in with the new." Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  16. Jay St - MetroTech has 5 syllables. I only heard two or three. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk That's good to know. Makes sense because those metrics I gave would require a lengthier platform. Oops. Another question? Do the R211 head cars have rollers or an actual digital display for the route symbol? I ask because I don't take concept art seriously when it comes to the MTA... Like the 4th Avenue "remodelings" that look like refurbished originals. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  17. I believe that's what I saw. The undercarriage utility boxes passing by had their logo. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk Thanks for clarifying. I noticed a running on a R160 about five weeks ago, and heard one from the opposite uptown platform at DeKalb last week. It said, This is a Manhattan-bound, (?) Local train. The next stop is, (??An?) St. ? = Incoherent. I could be mistaken. It could've be a . Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk I've heard they added an extra six feet to the car (3' on each end). Maybe those are the ones being tested for gangway doors? Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk I answered a question based on details by @DJ_TORO but it was really an answer to yours. It was a single five car set. The logos were on a matte label instead of a shiny one (like the Alstom ones are). Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk That helps. Thanks for clarifying. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  18. I saw it once when I was waiting at Euclid for the next train. If I do see it again, why not? What I saw: circa November 2016, on the uptown EXP track The side displays are crisper, less bold text, and the lighting is at least 7500K (very blue). The technicians were on board with laptops and measuring equipment. The holding poles are the bulge in middle type. Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk Is it fair to assert some R68 cars could also be replaced? The R32 "Detroit's" are fifty [emoji69] , but how old are the R68s? Thirty, thirty-five? [emoji53] Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk Sometimes I notice that the NYCT pairs two different five car sets, because the lighting isn't the same. Question: can an R160 Alstom 5 car be linked to a Bombardier R160 5 car without issue? Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
  19. It looks like real time data is now available for Broadway Lines. It's not pictured, but I do beleive trains are being tested... Transit app's GO feature allows riders to share real times based on GPS location. I made a suggestion on Twitter that conductors should have the app running in their cabs as an interim, zero dollar real time solution. #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? Getting to know the Hudson Valley one bus stop at a time... ????????
  20. Speaking of red lights, I nearly missed my ride yesterday. The operator was ready to floor it but the signal turned red just in time. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  21. I also recall someone saying that he joined this community with holes in that knowledge and he sought collaboration to improve it. If I knew it all then I wouldn't travel. But since I don't, traveling is a great way for me to learn new things and visit new places. I find my remark concessional and reasonable. Your sarcasm, not so much. [emoji53] ???? 22. I don't mind. Besides, books are my thing, especially the dusty old tomes in Reference. ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
  23. I'll give it a go. Guess I'll have to do the link hunting since you didn't post one...[emoji57] ???? Eric Shields | #MassTransitHonchkrow ???? THE Hudson Valley's essential Fare-blazer ????
