  1. Don't forget to reef all the 160s while fishing out all the other SMEEs in the Atlantic
  2. to 34th St. Trains terminate on SB express track. via Lexington to 34th St. Trains terminate on NB express track. via and . 8th Av express. to Essex to Union Sq PATH rerouted to Hoboken and WTC
  3. They can still take the and from Lex-63rd, and while it may be out of system, they will have to deal with it. It's only a few blocks anyways.
  4. How I would do it: First month: local on QBL via 53rd, local on QBL, truncated to 2nd Av extended to CI to 57th St to 96th to Lex-59 suspended IRT shuttle operates on Astoria, platform extenders are put in (static ones, not moving) Next 7 months: operates normally to 2nd Av extended to CI operates normally to 96th via 63rd suspended IRT still operates in Astoria
  5. What if... Let's say another hurricane struck NY. Fortunately, most tubes had been rebuilt and fortified by the time the hurricane struck. However, Rutgers, 60th, and 63rd have flooded. Canarsie will still be shut down at the same time. 63rd will be closed for 1 month, while the other tubes will have to be shut down for 8. Reroute away!
  6. 1. Bronx riders can still transfer at 42nd to the to Times Square... 2. The ? Really? Why confuse riders when you can send the ? Is this to appease your thirst swapping the and again? This really proves the point that you are a buff , not a railfan who takes things into consideration.
  7. Congratulations, you've screwed up the simplest of service changes. Rather than rerouted the via 63rd logically, you've decided to increase costs by making the full time to 71st and extending the which will probably barely be used. What is it with you and other people obsessing over putting the back on QBL? R68 porn?
  8. I'm pretty sure that a lot of their mechanical problems are a result of Westchester shitting on them since they don't have 142As anymore
  9. That actually is kind of realistic- Cuomo would close down most small trunks to pay for SAS, MTA will never fix Chambers, hipsters will always act "cool" if they did something old once
  10. Most people head to Midtown, so the would be near-useless. Making a transfer at Roosevelt Av isn't difficult.
  11. A few sets are, and I'm assuming they are the Rockaway Park ones as those ones start off at Dyckman. Imo it would be easier to have the 600 ft use R46s, and this would make it easier for 207th as then they would only have to take care of R46s and a few R179 sets.
  12. They would rather send the to Pitkin and to 207th than take some 68s from the . It is also easier.
  13. The is never good with headways. I have waited 20 mins on the Rockaway branch on weekend middays.
  14. But why run the via 60th? Queensboro Plaza is right above Queens Plaza, so there is no need to add an extra service.
  15. I think the Rockaway can handle them due to the ex-LIRR platforms
  16. To make a few things clear: 1. Nobody is going to use the as most people go to Midtown. 2. Why the hell close Chambers-WTC? Even if you had to, just send the to 2nd Avenue rather than Whitehall. 3. Sending the on Broadway will increase the chances of issues as you are now cramming 3 services down Broadway local as well as 60th, and 60th already has issues when it comes to 3 services on the line. 4. People still got places to go on the 25th. You can't revolve everything around service times as not all people go to them, and people also do other things after them, like, I don't know... see their families!
  17. I'f I'm correct, car deliveries are supposed to be around 1 per day, so we could start getting daily deliveries.
  18. Probably because the rail issue is on the express track or the switch from QBL express to 63rd is malfunctioning.
  19. I'm pretty sure that the reason why the MTA is getting production cars (if you can call them that) in now is that once the 179s pass their acceptance tests, they can get them in service ASAP to increase service and start retiring the R42s and worst-performing R32s considering how delayed delivery has been.
  20. Franklin's 68s are fine. No need to make line upgrades when the 68s fit the line fine (single units, permanent side signs, easy OPTO use) .
  21. Constraints: 1. WillyB cannot hold more than 25TPH (or 30, if I am wrong someone please tell me). 2. Myrtle Av junction. This in my view puts the nail in the coffin for RBB service in the near future as if the MTA even tries to build a flying junction there, the community will go nuts. It will be easier and quicker to build a new line under Broadway (a total waste of time and money) than to rebuild that junction.
  22. Cut the 8th Av/Fulton timers to a reasonable level and you can cut down on time. You also have to remember that the has constraints, and an extension is just going to worsen headways, and also, chances are most people will transfer for the at Roosevelt, crush-loading that line with more riders. RBB riders will get fed up with that packing, and will resort to taking buses and/or the emptier . RBB money should instead go to expanding bus service and installing CBTC on 8th and Fulton to alleviate the Hoyt bottleneck.
