Hopefully, this is fixed when the Bus order comes around for the new Express Buses, Who wants to pay $6.50 to ride on a local bus. Might as well take the Q64 to the subway for $3.75 cheaper. (Imagine if an NG showed up on a SIM1c, people would be fuming.)

I remember that happening with the S48. I think 8196 showed first than 8195 and 8194. Yesterday on the SIM3c 2657 was behind 2658.

Got of the 7:00 Ferry at 7:30. Every bus left expect for the 2 that I can take (and many more people) to get home (S44 and S46) It's 7:52 and none of the 2 has showed up. Guess we're dealing with packed buses at 8 PM. Oh, the S44 decided to show up at 7:52 PM. SMH

One thing I noticed is even though SI has the biggest Express Bus Network and most heavily used in the City. It has the least routes running off-peak. (Except on Sundays when the BM's don't run.)

The 3c has less service to Staten Island on Sundays. (Used to be every 30 mins until 7:45 PM than 8:30, 9:30, 10:00 and 10:30) Now it's every 55-60 mins after 5:30 PM until 10:20 PM.

I just Realized something. Remember when the MTA said there was 60-68 more SI Express Bus trips weekends. Well those 60 trips are all SIM2 Trips. So they did little to nothing to add service on the other off-peak routes.

Makes sense. Better to have the service.

Question: Why do some bus routes in NYC continue to serve destinations when everything is closed. For example, Why does the S46 continue to serve West Shore Plaza during Late Nights when It's closed and there are no residents below the SIE. (Maybe for the people that are staying in the Hotels on South Ave, but they have a free ferry shuttle and I don't think that ridership comes from the hotels.) Wouldn't it make sense and save money by truncating the S46 to Marines Harber late nights? The same thing goes with the S40 serving Matrix Park during the late nights. It's closed. Ending them at their old terminal would also make sense during the late nights. (I also think the S44/94, S59 and S79 should also run on Marsh Ave when the Mall is closed. Makes a lot more sense.)

Sometimes on SI there would be the 2nd bus passing the 1st late bus. And then the late bus would refuse to pass the 2nd bus and drive a little behind them.

Yeah, It's also more stressful when 2 buses come at once, you hop in the first one, but the bus behind it passes you and gets to your destination 5-10 minutes before your bus gets there. Sometimes the B/O is driving so slow that the next bus comes flying by.

I guess the would have to turn the SBS machines off on Weekends so people don't accidentality buy a ticket.

I remember a few months ago on a Sunday Night, I boarded an S46 at the Ferry and the bus was so crowded that the B/O didn't pick up anyone after the Ferry. We only stopped at S96 stops to Port Richmond.

Finally an SI route. I'm a bit confused why they chose the S40/90 corridor instead of the other North Shore routes, (The S44/94, S46/96, and S48/98) all have higher ridership than S40/90). Maybe it has to do with the North Shore BRT being planned or that Richmond Terrace is easier to turn into an SBS corridor than the other corridors.

The other cool that about Subway time is that you can also look at your phone before even walking in, to know if you should take the train or not. BusTime and Subway Time are Lifesavers when planning your trip.

Some of the service changes on the website can be very confusing. So the SIM1c is running via 7th and Lexington?

I think the S94 says SI MALL in one flash and then YUKON AVE in another while the S44 just says SI MALL, YUKON AVE.

You can get a different destination reading depending on the type of bus also. For example, SBS wrapped S79 buses (expect for bus #4278) say STATEN ISLAND MALL. While 4278 and other unwrapped buses on the S79 say, SI MALL.

The buses that went from Yukon to CS for the summer are back at Yukon. (4126 still has the CS sticker on it😂)
