  1. I can only hope that it'll actually be at least somewhat better in spite of the conversion. After all, Ulmer Park isn't exactly given high marks for how the buses and routes are handled...
  2. Ah, yes, the route that's even further away from where people want to go, and with excessive gaps between stops, to boot. Much of no one will use that to compensate for the Q41's loss, especially with the route's schedule hardly qualifying as better...
  3. Over temporary announcements that are primarily an ad campaign? Seriously?
  4. The street. Of course I'm talking about the damn station.
  5. If that were true, we'd see far more people talking about Rockaway Boulevard. The fact that it hasn't been brought up says a lot. This "latent demand" that you're just now spouting (from your ass to save your ass, as far as I'm concerned) has middling support, at best.
  6. My guess is that it's supposed to merely be an increase in the station's mere use, not that it matters much.
  7. Why am I expecting it to end up worse than the Queens draft plan?
  8. Pretty much, hence the complete failure to connect the two in any meaningful way. Perhaps that could change with the Worth Street provision and some changes to Phase 4.
  9. You, uh, haven't seen the Q35, have you? (I'm not even getting into some of the other routes, mostly because the only other ones I'm really willing to speak about are the Q44 and Q53, both of which are also getting shafted, along with the corridors they serve.)
  10. The only reason for that is because there is literally no direct connection between 8th Avenue Local and Fulton Street Local.
  11. That QT35 is more than enough proof of that...
  12. Or he could do his damn job and cover all the bases. After all, he's the one getting paid for transit coverage in a newspaper.
  13. That guy has a penchant for leaving out crucial details...
  14. But that still creates a gross imbalance. Consider the night and in Brooklyn. If both routes arrive as scheduled, the gets a two-minute lead on the . This results in an 18-minute period of nothing, which serves to complicate both general trip planning and especially transfers involving this unfavorable gap (people between New Lots Avenue and Franklin Avenue can easily transfer to the , but Nostrand Avenue patrons must either take their chances with a bus or wait for a ridiculously long time for the , which is only exacerbated by the being cut back to a Bronx shuttle if it runs at all, as well as the being just out of reach.)
  15. I was only asking because there was something similar that happened a few days ago, though this was a Far Rockaway train. (I only found out about this because of a friend on Facebook.)
  16. It would be nice if we had a half-decent place to short-turn trains in Lower Manhattan. We'd be able to increase Manhattan/Bronx service without flooding Brooklyn. (For all its flaws, Bowling Green is at least somewhat capable for Lexington Avenue.)
