  1. The only way I'd support that is to have the trips to Great Neck run as a limited-stop variant (local service would remain unchanged, save for the possibility of night service in Nassau) on a more favorable schedule than the current N20 (I know, the split, but it hardly matters). That said, I can't really say that Nassau residents would be too keen on that, as it would mean sharing space with NYC residents under open-door operation.
  2. Shouldn't the need to do that be reported to dispatch?
  3. Unless they removed the switch north of the station('s upper level), that's not an issue.
  4. If you were talking about almost any other pair of routes, I might accept it, but this is about the and . The only thing trying to enforce that would accomplish is more confusion.
  5. Because crews are apparently incapable of handling route changes that are closer to normal service...
  6. I guess no one noticed that little slip...
  7. Yeah, because much of no one's really taking the more than a few stops, anyway.
  8. The space doesn't exist to support anything of the sort (hell, just the bus lanes will quickly run into issues because the people that aren't driving buses will complain about not getting more lanes to use, even though adding general-use lanes will only open the door for more pollution and no real change in gridlock).
  9. That response seems rather familiar. It reminds me of someone who was bitten by a spider...
  10. Personally, I wouldn't be so quick to do that without relief. Going between Canarsie and Downtown Brooklyn in just one direction is already hell (and I say this as someone who's never operated a bus or truck but has used or considered the B103 multiple times), and immediately going back without so much as a break would likely breed more tension with the unions. That's not to say that I disagree with the general notion.
  11. Am I the only one that's bothered by the uneven scheduling of B103 buses from Flatbush Avenue, particularly on weekdays? (It starts out okay, but then becomes increasingly uneven from the afternoon until sometime in the evening.)
  12. Washington Heights really does no favors.
  13. It's possible that some of the buses on the route weren't being tracked (not the first time, especially with the newest buses coming in). Even so, I can't help but wonder what led to the Kingsbridge Road situation.
  14. The irony... Too narrow... Irrelevant...
  15. That's about 33-38 minutes, depending on traffic (and assuming there are no significant delays). That said, the is a thing. For one, the majority of Brighton riders prefer Broadway and actually get the service. No one's saying that it is. What it come down to is whether or not the route is useful, and hitting up Kings Plaza while running between the two points allows any theoretical route to be slightly more useful than a direct one, not that it makes up for the fundamental flaws.
  16. Also, how many people are really using Rockaway Freeway (aside from the "concurrency" with Beach Channel Drive around Hammels)?
  17. Overstate this, ignore that, rinse and repeat. 🤦‍♀️
  18. In fairness, they definitely slow operations, especially when they fail.
  19. I'll seem like a broken record for saying this, but you really need an enema.
  20. I think it has more to do with how CRRC is playing the game. By the looks of it, CRRC wants to do something similar to what BYD was able to do in LA. I can only hope that CRRC actually has some pride. Trains for the MBTA are to be built by the company, and if we do the same, we need them to be able to handle the pressures of our system. (Considering that CRRC wanted to partner with Bombardier for the R211s, I don't have much confidence.)
