  1. It's certainly possible. Like DeCamp, they haven't received any COVID emergency funds. That's why you see service cuts, discontinued routes or service and closures of some bus companies. NJT has no choice but to have a plan in place when the inevitable happens.
  2. Wooow....then again, why should we not be surprised. The writing was on the wall anyway, it's just a matter of when.Them IBOAs in Hudson county are now a thing of the past. Broadway bus you're up next. Hope you survive in the long run though. NJ Transit should think about buying that garage that A&C Bus has. We all know that NJ Transit needs additional space or a new bus garage badly near West Side Ave off of Route 440. I don't know why perhaps they haven't thought of it because Jersey City is booming and will soon overtake Newark as far as being the largest city population wise in the state. I'm sure gonna miss how clean AC Corp keeps the exterior of there buses clean and sharp and having different advertisement than NJ Transit
  3. Don't forget you have Eldorado and BYD here. Eldorado is on an upswing in California with it's CNG 40'Axcess bus.
  4. Them new 2023 artics can't get here soon enough for runs on the 119. Also, maybe NJT ought to create a 119X Express by adding some select express trips bypassing stops on Central Ave. I'm sure they're heavy loads from Bayonne to Journal Square in that stretch
  5. I would like to give credit to Oradell Garage as I've noticed that their cruisers buses from an outside appearance looking sharp and shiny, as if they were new. Even most of them have their rims clean. I know that Oradell has had a crappy bus wash system, but since the later part of winter I'm looking at the backs of these cruisers and boy they clean as heck. I even saw coach 8270 (D4000) look good from an outside appearance. Oradell might give Howell a run for their money ✨✨
  6. It sucks that not enough or no COVID aid wasn't given to family run, small, mid size and some large private/ charter carriers while transit gets all the dough. That's why you been reading and hearing companies and family run businesses folding up, besides the change in rider behavior and companies allowing hybrid work from home and such
  7. This even made the New York Times. I know the garages down south need some cruisers and heck even Wayne needs some to replace some of their 9000s. Wayne would be the garage to take over DeCamp's 33 and 66 route and just number it in the 330s. Shift the former Market Street Garages 164X to Oradell and 148 to either Oradell or Westwood. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/20/nyregion/nj-nyc-decamp-bus.html
  8. This is interesting.... https://www.masstransitmag.com/safety-security/news/53028478/nj-bizarre-bus-depot-breakin-ends-in-arrest-of-alleged-impersonator-with-same-name-as-ceo
  9. I've just realized that my topic of Oradell being stationed at GS Plaza during the winter storm was in the wrong thread. My bad guys
  10. Oradell has returned to Garden State Plaza because of the apparent storm that's coming. It's always great and nostalgic of seeing both of those Metro D Transits, #1872 and #1885. Ahhh memories of riding coach 1885 on Market Street routes. I miss them Metro Bs and Ds
  11. The run starts in Paterson Broadway Bus Terminal. I believe it's either the 190X New York Express or the 190R New York Express using Oradell equipment. Anyhow, that should be a fun quiet drive deadheading to the terminal
  12. Apparently either Oradell/ Meadowlands are doing some early morning runs of the 190 route during the weekday or Transit has shifted some buses from both Oradell ( Westwood) and Meadowlands to Wayne so they can have enough buses to operate those ex-Market Street garage PABT routes. Throw in the route 148 as well, unless they gave it to either Westwood or Oradell
  13. That's a good question! Perhaps if we knew what facility are they stored at when not in use it may give us a clue as to whom may have the license to drive them. I can only assume someone from the maintenance ( mechanic) field is driving them.
  14. I forgot what day it was when it rained this week, but they were here at Garden State Plaza at the usual parking lot facing route 4 and the off ramp of G.S.P. Oradell's issues of course with their garage having a minor flood. Buses had to be moved and stored at the parking lot outside the mall for a day or two. It's always a welcoming sight seeing those Metro Ds . Getting drivers of both Market Street and CUSA to look hard at those iconic buses and passengers reacting to them too. Where they at now I have no clue🤷🏾‍♂️
  15. I wish transit gave the 171 line to Wayne Garage. Wayne was operating the line with one bus for a month back in December. it really helped with the overcrowding especially during peak trips. Now people are condition to travel on the 171 line along route 4 because there seems to be long waiting times for the dollar bus, especially during the evening and night times
  16. Two doors. I would agree that the artics that serve routes within Jersey should get the three door model, while the New York routes have the two door. Yet maximum seating capacity matters to NJT and most passengers
  17. New Flyer " is the way to go" kkkk, when it comes to electrics. Dave, I've thought transit back then had close to 200 Volvo artics at four of the garages ( Hilton, Big Tree, Fairview & Meadowlands) if I'm not mistaken. I've always thought NJT should have around 250 or more artics. Jersey City is going bananas when it comes to population growth, condos galore, heavy investments and surely emphasis on transit. Soon it will overtake Newark as to being the largest city in Jersey population wise. Of course I know it all boils down to space at the current garages of holding additional artics, how long it will take for Union City Garage to open back to business and the mega bus facility in Ridgefield Park to be built.
  18. On Fairview Garage bus 5240 on the 74 to Paterson this morning. I'm thinking dayum...is Market Street getting some of Fairview NABI suburbans too? They got four from Newton and now two from Fairview. Bus shifting I guess
  19. Yep. AtThat 119 line is popping ever since transit took over and converted it into an artic route, with some Nabis and an occasional MCI. Like you guys know, Transit wants the 126 line to be a full artic line during off peaks and weekends. The 123 line is a give or take of XD60s. Also, routes 1 & 25 still needs more XD60s because of rising heavy ridership. I've said it before that them 60 artic buses will be split between Meadowlands and Hilton
  20. Nabi bus 5374 from Newton Garage is now Market Street. Coach 5216 of Fairview has made its stop at Market Street and has been there for two days
