  1. there are ~750 r46s vs about 200 211a's in service.....yeah youll still see lots of 46s
  2. Id assume the queens plaza R dropouts will continue until they finish CBTC East
  3. not how that works, all 211 training is basically done at Pitkin. That is most likely school car just using a 211 over there. OR its a cbtc test train
  4. I did both. When I emailed ecmro@nyct that I have the papers to clear my hold, I showed up in person for them to tell me my medical was expired. I did reach out to DCAS, and they themselves told me I was still on the list. So idk what happened that made me stay on the list but it was perhaps me actually coming in that one day?
  5. I have but my situation may have been weird/special. When I got diagnosed with it I had to get the machine, waited a while for that to come in due to national shortage of the machines being recalled. Did the 30 days of monitoring that transit requires and got the data. My medical actually ended up expiring but I was kept on the list and sent to my 3rd pre employment eventually
  6. posting is when you work a specific line with another seasoned conductor. Basically on-the-actual-job training. You do that for about 2 weeks or so
  7. Wouldnt there be a surplus of 4 car sets of 160s, If the gets all the 4 car 179s from the when it goes 100% full length?
  8. Yeah Id say next year at the earliest. And if they were smart they would order more, but have them all be 5 car sets. We really dont need any more 4 car sets at the moment especially if transit wants to make the C full length
  9. When do yall think theyll sign off on the 2nd option order?
  10. the yard practical has a chance at a do over with a superintendent supervising it the final road practical is pass or fail and if you fail, thats it
  11. Got some potential news from the grapevine, would be nothing too new but as always take it with a grain of salt. Car equipment's current plan is to keep the r68s around for around another 8-10 years due to them being purchased with federal funding way back when, so dont expect the 268s for a while. Of course, the car equipment of today will most likely not be the same car equipment a few years from now, as always, grain of salt.....
  12. Nice theyre finally making good progress on deliveries
  13. its a valid concern, they don't want people falling asleep while on the job, its to cover themselves but I will admit they go a bit too hard about it sometimes
  14. yeah this test is good until next feb at least unless they extend it again
  15. they can always just cut the train in 2 and inspect it that way via 2 tracks instead of 1
  16. dont pay wallyhorse any mind, none of his plans are meant to help people, just to fullfill the foamer fantasies
  17. well I mean yes youre correct they did, the RFP (Request For Proposal) is the very first step in that process
  18. if the 2nd option order is purchased for the R211s, then the 268s can wait till the mid 2030s, if it doesnt get purchased then we will need them sooner, probably start around 2030 or so
  19. Man oh man am I glad most of these people dont plan for transit
  20. my bad, meant to say till end of september unless they extend it again. I thought I was responding to the conductor thread
