  1. No. The express of any kind will not work on the 1. It's been explained already. Why have special bus service for them? If they need faster service, then their campus should provide it for them.
  2. Q35 from this year, starting in January, has been even crazier: new c40lf, o5cng, ng, artic, ex-bl 05 and that's on top of the ex nyct rts and standard og hybrids.
  3. R188s are in 11 car sets. They will likely retire on the 7.
  4. At least with the F, it was designed with full express service in mind. The express tracks on the 1 are useless and need to merge back on the local to serve a station. But the analogy isn't that far off and true to a point.
  5. Agreed about the 6, the 2 is not losing their trains because they are needed there as it shares the north and southern part of the line with the 5. Also they sometimes run over each other's lines (2 on the east and 5 on the west). too bad if the UES riders don't want the old trains back, they can take taxis or buses to the west side if they don't like it. Agreed for the E, R32s were there because the train had 40 sets of doors compared to the 32 of the R46s, so sending the R160s to the E first over the F made more sense.
  6. I've never been there at all. What was it like? The only thing I can think of is something like that pier mall in atlantic city.
  7. That's pointless about the ngs. It's stupid that they can't just send those Ngs to NYCt and take some other OG buses to convert. Or why not take the 3800-3959 NGs with the lead acid batteries instead?
  8. Well the shipping costs would be prohibitive unless the person has deep pockets to move it. They could sell the car for $1, but the person would have to pay a lot for the other costs.
  9. Today like 5pm when coming home, there was at least 1 per direction and another at the junction before turning back. I just missed getting on one as I saw an artic make a turn at Av H while on the B41.
  10. Exactly what it sounds like. Though I dunno which one of those has the most mileage as I assume it was mainly SI and their buses. Probably nothing major to call it a move, but saw 3 artics on the the Q35 today: 1013, 1015?, 1026.
  11. Spotted like 3 artics on the Q35 in a 20+min time frame. 1013, 1015?, and 1026 (orange led). I was wondering if the june one was it, but wow, didn't really expect 3 all at once (each spaced apart with a 40' bus). Is things that bad over at FR?
  12. I do agree that ENY should keep the R32s and push the R42s out. They aren't getting the R179s anytime soon, may as well keep the better trains there. as for the R42s, well either they mothball them and stretch the R32 spares thin or put up with the R42s back on the C again.
  13. No, the train will magically switch at 42nd st to run over to Flushing Queens. Bill Ingvall: "There's your sign..."
  14. Oh ok. still pita indeed. I don't think i've played any pc games in ages. I think the last time I played msts was before I got my ipod in maybe 2009.
  15. How are the c40lfs holding up at CP and sc? I do agree that it seems FR/JFK and LGA still haven't changed much. smh. I'd just dump the NYCT OGs (convert them to diesel) and be done with them. If they aren't going to change, then keep giving them the 2nd hand stuff.
  16. I can still get news about the world from the internet. I mean as far as the physical paper, the daily news is sufficient. I can supplement it by going online and browsing place like the times, etc.
  17. I thought the point was to send NGs that didn't already have high mileage on them? Oh well, if it's the ex-SI units going back to SI, then so be it. I'm just completely lost in all these swaps. As for UP, are they gonna lost the prevosts and consolidate them to SI? If so then good, but they should've sent back the newer MCIs instead not the older ones.
  18. As they say: you get what you paid for. I stick with the daily news because as bad as all the trivial stuff is, it's still covering the news. I care more about the local stuff than I do the world.
  19. I never really watched the 'movie' season, but when it returned for season 6, I got interested in it again midway thru (missed the first few eps, which i eventually saw on reruns). If not for futurama, I probably wouldn't have cared to watch anything on comedy central.
  20. They'll probably reair it soon. Episode is called 'meanwhile'.
  21. And futurama is over. (at least till the simpsons crossover at the end of the new season or the season premiere of the next one.) The ending was ok, left it in a way where everything can be neatly rebooted if some other network picks it up. But as much as I enjoyed it, I think it is best to end somewhere before it becomes stale by overstaying its welcome. I think they kinda wrapped up a few things nicely.
  22. which was my basic point, and hybrids issues aside for SI, this is a good thing so we don't have to rotate the buses with si like they did in the 2000s before the ngs arrived.
  23. Didn't you say they were going to mta bus first? i agree about the first part, but i am not in favor of converting more hybrid buses. I'd rather they send the 89 nova lfs to si and push out some of the ngs. Converting is a waste of money. There's nothing wrong with the buses, hybrids are better for stop and go type traffic. Or if they really have to convert hybrids to diesel, then start with the oldest og buses and send them to si.
  24. plus they were a test fleet meaning if there was one or two types the mta really liked, we would've had more of them. Unfortunately orion shut down making it a two horse race. But i do agree with him on some levels that after a while the 3 different types should've been consolidated to each borough. Perhaps it was too much for one depot to take on all 90 of one type.
