  1. First 2 batman films were great, rises was a disappointment. Having taken some time to think about man of steel, they over did it on the destruction. I recommend watching the parody 'how it should have ended" channel on youtube to show you what i mean. probably would've wanted to, but bale doesn't want to return. Also rises pretty much ended that series unless they wanted this to take place in b/w that 8yr gap.
  2. If they wanted a good actor, they could've gone for matt damon. At least damon was pretty good in the bourne movies and can do some fights. I know DD is not batman, but i mean the lead superhero. Affleck is a decent director, but i don't think he's a good actor or at least for this sort of genre.
  3. Maybe, but I don't think Ledger was the lead in another comic book movie. Afleck was bad in daredevil, I'm not too convinced about being Batman. Clooney instantly comes to mind as a poorly done version.
  4. Ben 'asshat' as the new Batman? are they on crack? Terrible idea. I don't care how many years ago daredevil was, he should not be allowed near superhero films. Find someone else to play him even if he's an unknown. Maybe Jim Cavezel from person of interest?
  5. When people say cutting the W saved 10 trains, does that factor in the extra trains the Q needs to be extended to Queens?
  6. It's not like they needed to. They ran 11 singles or 6 singles (and a 5 car set) for years. Then again I guess they may as well start making them full width if they are being linked sets.
  7. Plus you still need the car attached to the single car to be able to open to it than to leave it isolated (it was why some 1700s had their full cabs folded in). The 6 would have enough sets to take starting from the 1600s and then up.
  8. What good would come from cutting the S? Aside from the summer weekends, they run 3 4-car trains. You can also forget about cutting the F and R services as those probably need all the trains they can run. The only thing I could see is maybe the A taking some of the extra spare R32s, but even that might be too much for the R32s handle.
  9. Well there are AA R46 pairs, so at most it'd be 2 pairs on each end. And you have the R68 singles on the Franklin S. But we already have R32s for that so we don't even need the R46s for such a task (and of course those 75' cars won't fit on Eastern division). But that said yes R62As will do. Doesn't matter about age, these would be the 'oldest' cars left that can fit both divisions and still have singles. Each car has a/c which is something the R127/134s don't have. So they probably won't need to run the R32s for garbage duty.
  10. Some cars have been linked as 3 car sets. I do agree those could be used, but as stated, those 20 cars are set aside for the S specifically.
  11. Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but I saw 9447 on the B41 on Sunday. Had the FB stickers on. Are they going to push out the rest of the 9600s? And did that bus come from Grand av or UP?
  12. I don't believe all the 1900s have been linked as 5 car sets yet. And if anything, why not 'unlink' the 2000-2100s instead of a 1600? At least the 2000s have been used as singles.
  13. Only the 1901-2150s were singles. Why would a 1600s set be singles if they are linking up the 2000-2100s into 5 car sets?
  14. Indeed. I find the orange ones much better than the flip dots and green led ones. The green led signs are ok, but seem to be glitch prone at the back.
  15. I wouldn't be surprised about that 4900 bus. Could be just a loaner for the summer.
  16. if that unit came from flatbush, then it's typical of buses going to manhattan for the summer when ridership is lower. Nothing out of the ordinary. Usually 5000s would've gone there in the past.
  17. True, but it looked like one of the upper scale models. if only i was better on my car knowledge. I think it was a cl63 amg (didn't think i got a shot of it as it zoomed by before I got a clearer shot of it, but I managed to snap a pic of the upper left corner). Checking on the Ferrari, I believe it was the 430. Yeah, possible, coney was packed sunday.
  18. same with me and the buses. 317 years ago on the b11, 915 on the b9, 9644 on the b41... Never needed to wait more than a regular wait for the bus. Just keep a pocket cam ready at all times in case.
  19. if lga has a shortage, can't they cut back the q53 service like cut some stops? They could send select q52s to woodside since really that corridor should be jfk/fr's responsibility.
  20. If they were sent to MJQ or such, they could last longer, but even though they were beaten to death at LgA and JFK/FR, I think it was just what anyone could've expected of those buses. I just wished the 8600s RTSs lasted longer if they were all sent to MTA bus instead of seemingly disappearing (of course a few were at FR, but i mean as a whole).
  21. There was at least 1 R46 on the R. I saw one leave at the 'pacific st' platform before an R160 R came in. Yesterday, I was on the F from Smith 9th to CI, I saw 1 R46, but most were still R160s. I did see another r46 from the ground, so that'd be 2.
  22. Seeing those hydraulic cars in person is just fascinating. Yesterday at Coney island a cadillac was basically shifted to one corner. I can't really describe it, but it was just hilarious seeing the driver driving while the car was in that position. There was also a mercedes amg and a ferarri (either a 430 or 458* need to check) behind it. Dunno what was going on, but it was worth the trip there even though it was by accident.
  23. Fine. As long as there are no new accounts started by him and the others, then it's done.
  24. Well supposedly he does have a handle here. I think the mods know who. But agreed Kamen, the hostility is just overboard. He is just pissed that our problems became his problems (given his many back and forth insults there).
