  1. No.....people have been complaining about how the CityTicket during the week can't be used peak hours, which results in having to pay a bit more than double the amount of the CityTicket value just to travel between Manhattan and Queens, hence, the peak fare CityTicket.
  2. I wouldn't even cut back the Q43. What I would do is make the limited variant actually be more of a limited compared to the segment it currently has as a limited. Cutting it back to 165th Street Bus Terminal(or whatever the new terminal will be) doesn't really make a lot of sense. All that's really doing is pushing the current Q36 over to Hillside.
  3. Have you forgotten about the Saddle River fiasco? Ever since that, they've stayed far away from trying to get new companies to do their routes. Matador Tours briefly took over after Saddle River....and that was even worse. They still have two state-owned buses on their property, a D4000, and an RTS. Not yet. There are three A&C Bus NABIs at the Meadowlands lot, however. Seems like they're starting early. NJT would have to take over regardless, since it's technically their lines, just contracted to another agency. It's just a matter of which garages will be able to take on the routes in question. Meadowlands & Greenville have been getting their asses kicked ever since the 10 and 119 came into the fold. It makes me very skeptical that something with some sort of sense will be done. After what they did with the 86P when the 4 got the axe, I have very little hope that they'll do something that actually makes any sense.
  4. Not the first, but probably the first time such an increase happened.
  5. It's surprising when you consider the 188 fleet as a whole went on a downward trend since the beginning of the year and late last year.
  6. June MDBF stats are out. Almost the entire B-Division took a substantial drop in fleet reliability, the R160s shot up in reliability while the R179s got dethroned(largely due to dead motors and other maintenance related issues). R68As went up in reliability, everything else went down. The A-Division saw some increases with the exception of the R62s. The story that stands out is that the R188 Conversion cars got a MASSIVE increase in reliability for the month of june....going from 346k in May to 1.4 million miles in June. That in itself is incredible.
  7. The problem is how can they help? NJT can't get involved unless they take over the routes, which is also another problem because NJT needs more garage space to house the buses. Hilton, Big Tree and Orange are at capacity already and I don't think Ironbound can take on any more buses.
  8. Damn. I was thinking of getting on that train too but opted for the Far Rockaway train to avoid the crowds.... .....then I forgot about the Mets game.
  9. Update on the weekend accommodations with the E line, got on without a problem. C/R saw my screen with the G.O and literally said "E train rider? You're good to go".
  10. Same trucks and such as the R160, hence why they ride literally the same. I also prefer the R179s over the R211s when it comes to smoothness and overall ride quality.
  11. From what I've been told, they've done quite a lot of scaling back in this next draft. Some of the good ideas got scratched out, and some others are just......yikes.
  12. Kinda killed your point about the line being straightforward. It's more complicated than it looks. The management of the line got worse after the 2010 cuts, and it hasn't gotten better. From the horrible bunching between both services, to massive service gaps, to short-turns, to buses deadheading to a certain point just to catch up with the paddle, to other shit that happens with the line, it's one of the biggest mismanaged combination of routes in The Bronx as a whole. It's why I don't see the Bx12 as any sort of benefit for the Q44 extension.
  13. Cost-savings, that's what the whole idea was about. It would allow them to run less buses on the entire line overall.
  14. That Q10 extension would have screwed over both the Q10 and Q64 ridership base. A lot of people cited both crowding and reliability concerns with the route. The Q10 is one of the top highest ridership routes in MTA Bus. Sending it up to Electchester would have done more harm than good to be honest.
  15. Basically, how it currently performs and all of the crap the line has to deal with in terms of traffic, bunching, ect. IMO the Bx12 is one of the worst managed routes in The Bronx.
  16. FYI, if you're posting on mobile, don't mash the reply button, you posted the same thing 10 times by accident.
  17. On paper, it sounds good, but, I'm heavily skeptical on how this extension would really fair out... Although.... 1. Getting to/from the West Bronx was already easy from the Q44 since it already connects with a bunch of lines, the Bx40/42, Bx22, Bx36, Bx9....the only difference is that it's connecting with the Bx12. Not really that much easier, especially with the Bx12 being a literal hot mess of a route. 2. Lol...not that many people will travel to/from Queens to/from The Bronx or Manhattan and sit for 1hr+ on the Q44(including the driver change at Flushing) just to save a couple of bucks. Definitely not worth it. It's a literal waste of time. 3. Not really....the Q44 on the weekend, especially when there's roadwork and such is a real pain in the ass. The same goes for the Q50(but the Q50 is far more bearable than the Q44). 4. Yeah.....about that Q10 extension, heard that caught the axe. A LOT of people on both ends hated the idea and rightfully so, that was one of their worst ideas. As for the Q44 as a whole, I'm actually of the belief that the Q44 shouldn't even go past Parkchester. Parkchester as a whole screws that line up bad when there's traffic. Yes, the Q44 does get decent passenger traffic at The Bronx Zoo, but that route between Parkchester and West Farms has done that route no favors, even with the SBS conversion. Once that Q44 goes to Fordham, I'm never taking that to The Bronx. I'm certain that I can take the Subway to GCT for Metro-North or take LIRR to MNRR and get to Fordham faster than a number of Q44s.
  18. XEs are going to KB(of all places) for maintenance. Don't expect much out of it.
  19. It sometimes does. I complained about it once on twitter during the E/F shutdown, and the very next day, they were all informed about it on both trips to/from the city. And considering that the E is going to be out every weekend until early August, they better get the message soon.
  20. Very common with LIRR and the Subway sadly. The only time they consistently paid attention to the cross honoring was when there were no Es and Fs between Jamaica and Forest Hills. I've had conductors who went to ask other conductors about cross-honoring at times and they didnt know what to do since they didn't get notified on their devices, I've been let on regardless. I've had one conductor ask to show proof that it's on the MTA website, I showed him both the app and the website notice.
