  1. They left already, they didn't technically leave the US Market.
  2. No. As I said, they are paying out of pocket for this order.
  3. Once Nova leaves the US market, they can't order from them at all.
  4. And keep the service alert open on your phone....most of the time when I had to show my metrocard, the C/Rs aren't aware of any cross-honoring occurring.
  5. The folks at Prevost themselves said that they won't build for agencies that comply with said act, so they aren't exempt. The Buy America act involves federal funds, which means agencies could've gotten Prevost buses through federal funds if they were still in the US market. The only other way to get Prevost buses is out of their own pocket, which the MTA is doing. This is presumably for MTA Bus, and most MTA Bus orders require federal funds. They're paying straight out of their pockets for this one.
  6. .....what are you actually talking about? lol.... The only started getting new trains with the R179s, prior to that, the line hasn't gotten any new trains in years. Second, no one here is mentioning any grief about the R32s, R42s or SI R44s(everyone collectively knows those cars are in shit shape) and the R46s. If you're referring to a member's signature, it's just some silly quote. If you're trying to be cool and edgy in this thread, this was a poor attempt.
  7. COVID is what did them in. A&C Bus never received any bailout money from the feds. They've been operating at a loss ever since.
  8. NJT would have to provide service by default. I really didn't like what they did with the 86(P) when the 4 got the axe. It made the whole line in Jersey City confusing as shit.
  9. Not sure if this was mentioned in here, but A&C Bus will be shutting down at the end of October. Here's to hoping that NJT will actually be serious about service in Jersey City.
  10. If it's short term, it's better not to post it. At this rate, we already know that Manhattan is getting very short-term loans constantly.
  11. And this is my problem, folks constantly jumping the gun before any moves happen. This always causes disagreements and arguments in this thread, and people then wonder why. Only post moves WHEN they happen. Stop trying to get ahead of the curve.
  12. Nowhere, because that yard doesnt exist.
  13. On top of that....it's designated solely as an LIRR terminal.
  14. One literally has nothing to do with the other. The issues the MTA would have to pay attention to are the issues BYD has experienced in the West Coast. Plus, the MTA liked the two BYD demos they received. Never say never. The most recent one was driven along the Q44 route from Queens to The Bronx in range testing.
  15. I'm late on this. It was already awarded to MCI prior to this. I don't think it'll change.
  16. The only way we'll know for sure that it passed the 30-day test is if the other sets begin to enter service.
  17. The only buses I know that legitimately go over 40 are a batch of Yukon LFSs that were at one point, specifically assigned to the S89. They had to raise them to I think 55 because they were being pulled over by NJ State Police for literally being slow and in their words "unsafe".
  18. They don't go 60, they go 40. Local buses in general on both ends are governed at 40mph(although there's a small few in every depot that goes higher), even on expressways. Only the express buses top out at 60. I don't know where you're getting this from.
  19. Not necessarily. Nova's departure(again) would allow other companies like Gillig and Eldorado to move in, and Eldorado has been making big gains in California and other parts of the US. If either wanted an east coast facility, this would be prime for the purchase.
  20. Each and every customer of Nova's will still be able to order parts and such from them. Its a shame though, especially since they've finally managed to get into areas that were very New Flyer and/or Gillig heavy, like San Francisco, Portland, DC.
  21. That was said several times before. Let's wait for some actual news. Doesn't really help your case considering you completely misunderstood what he said.
  22. FYI, contradicting yourself is never a good idea. You can't say they are really bad and then say they are good.
  23. Doubt it, especially with all of the hoops you gotta go through just to get to the ferry with that proposal.
