  1. I mean...could you of have said MORE TRUTHS?!?!
  2. Help me understand, how is this not a 42 that is just extended to Port Chester with runs that short-turn at New Rochelle (a variant)?
  3. I get what you're saying here but I can't see how this would drive efficiency. The 42 has ~120 daily trips, compared to the 61's ~50. If you were to extended the 42 north full-time, almost all runs would be nearly empty north of New Rochelle. If you were to extended the 42 north part-time, creating some sort of 42P variant, you'd most likely net the same amount of runs as it currently stands.
  4. Yes. WDOT plans on migrating the entire fleet to hybrid-electric by 2025.
  5. This duplication is met with merit. It allows for consistent frequency on the return trips and some drivers will switch to the 4 or deadhead to the start of another route. Similar to on Sundays, the 7 runs from Yonkers to Mount Vernon and that same bus will turn to a 40 and run to White Plains.
  6. I'm keen to see if rt28 survives this redesign or if the route itself is severely modified.
  7. "Look we added an extra digit to all the route numbers and changed your local bus stop! Improvement!"
  8. The fact that MNR's recently updated train time doesn't give realtime anymore just adds insult to injury.
  9. I wouldn't take the test either, honestly. The PR front of "conducting a quick investigation" can easily switch to culpability. But this is coming from my paranoid ass.
  10. Looks a little rough, but I'm sure we've all seen worse.
  11. Thanks for sharing these pic @Cait Sith. I'm pumped to see a (somewhat) modern experience coming for LIRR/NJT/Amtrak.
  12. Set to open on Jan 1. I managed to get a peak at the station last week and its beautiful.
  13. From the look of this roster, it appears beeline refreshes nearly their entire fleet around around the same time, +/- 5 years. Does anyone know if this is by design or if this was the product of when they "right-sized" their fleet at some point?
  14. You mean to tell me this guy (or person) has been contributing "alternate facts" on wikipedia for nearly a YEAR?!? The arrogance. This is one of the (many) reasons that Wikipedia gets a bad rap.
  15. I appreciate this level of detail in an explanation, even if I read it with a touch of sarcasm. It felt like reading a guide on how to properly put on pants...
  16. 30 minutes per route is the fallacy a lot of car-dependent folks hang their hat on. Anyways.
  17. Glad the folks who planned 2 bus routes and 1 commuter rail through my quiet, suburban neighborhood didn't listen to this sentiment. Although most of the US will disagree, Car or not, there is a general need for reliable & convenient public transport at all corners, regardless of how 'annoying' they are.
  18. Anyone have an idea what work is happening in Grand Central Terminal? It looks like their building a significant scaffold by the West Stairway (maybe for facade work?). It seems to grow in size each day.
  19. If not the most important quote: Regarding Covid-19's lifespan on surfaces--"One minute I read its 24 hours, then read 7 days, then I read the sun kills it, then President says bleach kills it" This guy is gold.
  20. Sweet! Thanks for sharing. I assumed a ancillary device would be used but it's good to know. Thanks for digging into the (recent) archives.
  21. Apologies if this has been asked before. How are OMNY fares validated by the Eagle team or whatever other team responsible for fare enforcement?
  22. Does anyone have information on the status of the Penn Station renovations or have visited recently? I get frequent updates about the 42nd street corridor and it's acceleration due in part to lower passenger levels, I'm wondering what the progression is like on the west side.
