Wow! But what happens if your a lefty lol.
  2. I agree....I should be allowed to carry too lmao
  3. Mass hiring has been going on within DOB as well. Word of advice to all when you budget your money budget it according to 40 hours of work because that is all you are guaranteed. You may find yourself bringing home checks of 110+ hours for a while but don't get used to it because if you begin to budget according to that you will find yourself up the creek fairly quickly. They are trying to cut down on OT and from their point of view this will remedy the situation. What's funny though is that in theory wouldn't mass hiring increase operating expenses as they would not only have to pay the salary but dish out funds for the benefits package as well?
  4. I was shocked to find out as well. I was told that people got really out of hand in the past...so what better way to maintain order than the fear of death lol
  5. He's good I seen him post a couple pics with female counterparts....now some other guys on here....idk man lol
  6. Hmmm, now that I think of it. Will the MTA Bus routes be included in BusTime?
  7. Well they are pulling a lot of buses off the road because they are installing the GPS system on them so that may have something to do with it. As far as the buses parked on 218th they don't discriminate lmao I've seen Nova's out there as well unless it's too hot and for this winter if it's too cold they'll be parked inside...they are rather sensitive to the weather smh.
  8. Yeah there are two buildings the Transportation/Maintenance building on 10th Avenue and on 9th Avenue is where they park the buses there are 2 floors in there and still not enough room...back when WF (the Coliseum at the time) was closed for renovations KB had acquired two temporary lots one owned by New York Presbyterian (called The Field of Dreams...word is that is where all the good buses were kept) and the other lot by DSNY (where all the garbage was kept...how appropriate right lol). Now when one pulls out a bus they are either sent "downstairs" (lower level of the building), "upstairs" (upper level of the building), "218" (the double parked line of buses you saw) or "time warner" (another line of buses parked in front of time warner cable)...It would be nice to house all of the buses indoors but there just isn't any room.
  9. I stand corrected it was a CAT engine. Thank you.
  10. I can't believe I've been missing out all this time. I'm on the BxM10 and these D4500's are really nice plus that DD60 sings a nice tune!
  11. It's like that in DOB too I remember when I was in WF I had an RTS on the Bx36 and I hit a bump and a bunch of roaches came scattering out the rear vents the people were panicking LMAO
  12. May I please have: Luminator Titan Bx1 LIMITED Bx1 Riverdale 231 ST Bx1 via CONCRSE
  13. I didn't want to start a new thread but this is actually quite interesting and would like to know any more information..if possible: Bx5 LIMITED SOURCE: www.bus.nycsubway.org - Credit: Joe Testagrose Was there really a Bx5 Limited variant? I honestly can't picture this as to me it doesn't seem as if the 5 needed any kind of limited service.
  14. Dude I'm telling you even with no traffic there are some parts that you can't just go as fast on. I found myself being held up mostly in part to a great model motorist who parked their new BMW X6 at an angle and a few inches past the "No Standing Anytime" sign right where the bus turns on to Independence street...major PITA clearing the pivot point by only a few inches...after last night I can truly say that I have become a better driver lol. As for the NG > O5...It's usually cause the senior guys who do those lines just don't like those buses and also the fact that there are a lot of elderly people who use those two lines which equates to it being more feasible to run a low floor on that route. IMO they (Orion V) are far better than the hybrids as they are more...."predictable" for lack of better a better term. They stop when you want them to stop, don't have a 2,000lbs battery on the roof so you can turn them at a decent speed with out getting a massive lean and possibly throwing the customers from one side of the bus to the other, acceleration is very good (subject to on par maintenance), responsive steering etc...
  15. Sometimes I wonder who makes these paddles. One op who I showed the paddle to was like jesus they must want you to go down riverdale ave like a 7 (opposed to going all around kappock)
  16. I can imagine...standing all the way from 207-Far Rock = no fun Maybe they need to bring back the R-10's and have you guys work from in between the cars
  17. ...The hawk run on the Bx10 is just pure slavery...seriously?! only 27mins running time from 263rd to 206th with all those damn turns....and to top it off only 3 minutes recovery time at the end of each trip.
  18. Indeed, there are actually a couple of LFSA's dispatched to the Bx55 usually the trippers.
  19. They do use it...when cars and cyclist aren't blocking it . As for that SBS in the pic s/he was probably going around the bus servicing the stop. Also, if it's the weekend there's no need really to stay confined to the lane when traffic is flowing smoothly and your next stop (Bx12 SBS) is all the way by Crotona Ave.
  20. Or like Webster Avenue btwn 169th Street and 171st Street...SMH is all I have to say.
