There was no order at all! We weren't even given paddles which in a way was good. As far as swing times it was on the operator to be honest and take a regular swing when they got to Brooklyn. However, like in any work force you have those who work diligently and those who slack off. I heard of guys boasting that they only did one trip and parked the bus until they decided it was time to go home. I appreciate any extra piece of work that is given to me so I do what I'm supposed to do. It's not hard work and it was a huge relief to not have to deal with the farebox. I did the Jay Street-Metro Tech - 57th and Lexington branch. I'll be doing the Far Rockaway shuttle one of these days. Let's see if I can get a XD60!

It happened about 5 times that night and on each occasion it skidded to the left (my left...if that makes sense lol) opposite the curb so feel more sorry for bypassing traffic lol. Well when it snows, you know where to find me lol

Be wary, a lot of the "overhauled" units have been road called left and right over here. Mostly mechanical defects too like transmission's dying, batteries not holding a charge (most likely due to a faulty alternator) etc... They look all nice and pretty but it's mind boggling as to why they would just work on the aesthetic portion and not make sure they were sound mechanically as well.

Well yes I see what your saying those 57xx D60's are something serious! I had 5701 during the recent snow storm, the torque output was insane!! The damn trailer was fishtailing like crazy even though I was really light on the accelerator...I've never seen the traction control kick in so many times lol. The best part was when it was really coming down at about 5-6pm and I pulled into 161st S/B just as I came to a complete stop (no lie) the trailer kicked out to the left like 3-4 feet it was scary but so damn fun at the same time lol.

Don't get so emotional.....we get it, you LOVE the Xcelsior but quite frankly don't let it (the hobby) overtake your teenage years...there are classic memories to be made, girls to meet, social gatherings to attend etc... I probably love the Xcelsior as much as you do but I know there is more to life than it...I only write down bus numbers because I have to in my line of work. Nonetheless, I hope you get what I'm saying here...yes you can love the Xcelsior and the hobby in general but don't isolate yourself from your peers (don't succumb to negative peer pressure either!) in vain of chasing a bunch of buses.

Dan, that is correct. As long as you are not on probation you can revert to your previous title within a year of appointment to your new title. If you are on probation you will have to resign from your current title and accept the new position.
