  1. They're having fun, they're toggling switches as if they're playing a simulation game.
  2. I noticed that none of the routes go into Queens, that would kill ridership.
  3. https://www.silive.com/news/2020/03/mta-approves-split-tolling-on-verrazzano-narrows-bridge.html https://www.silive.com/news/2020/04/contracts-approved-to-implement-split-tolling-on-verrazzano-narrows-bridge.html
  4. This delay may help, if they're still working on the Brooklyn Redesign, they can the Brooklyn and Queens Redesign on the same time frame and work on them together.
  5. I don't think they can, Floral Park is an Incorporated Village and Elmont is an unincorporated area in the Town of Hempstead. So they'd have to bring suit against the Town of Hempstead and/or State of NY. I think Floral Park may be concerned about the loss of parking revenue from Elmont Residents at the Floral Park station, I don't see how an Elmont Station affects them otherwise, maybe patronage to their business on Tulip Ave while going to and from the Train? As for the Arena, they may be concerned with extra traffic in the area and those looking for on-street parking, Belmont Stakes is one day a year and that's enough to deal with in both Floral Park and Elmont's eyes, and even Queens Village, since they have to deal with it as well. The new station will be on the main line, so trains will be able to enter and leave the station quickly, no need for speed restrictions like when going through the Belmont spur's wye, etc. They could easily serve the station during events by adding a stop to all the service they have on the main line. (both east and westbound).
  6. Will the Brooklyn Draft be delayed? Also, do you think the redesign(s) will be shoved through due to budget concerns?
  7. "Never let a crisis go to waste." Sounds like specific rules to target the homeless, in the name of covid of course.
  8. The trick is to ignore the endings when pronouncing/reading, they just provide visual context. Audibly, you have to listen for the articles.
  9. I don't think that would be wise, they actually got an increase in ridership and revenue with those programs.
  10. It's baaack: https://www.nicebus.com/Passenger-Information/FasterRide UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: Starting April 5th, NICE will be running a modified schedule, based on our current Saturday schedules. Weekday only routes such as the n16 and Shuttles will continue to run Monday-Friday. Our website schedules and GoMobile app will display these timetables starting April 5th. For additional details on our modified schedule , please visit the Passenger info section of our website. No Jamaica trips on the N1
  11. Ahh thanks. I heard a slight accent, wasn't sure where it was from. I just thought it was interesting referring to it as the ed train in on a NYC Press conference. I haven't heard Byford refer to the train at all, he'd probably say Zed by default though.
  12. They used plural for bankruptcies, in which I thought they were referring to agencies across the country.
  13. I think the point is that if transit agencies go bankrupt then those pensions go bye bye.
  14. There's a lot less traffic all around, B&T traffic is only down by 6%?
  15. Interesting concept, if there was a semi shutdown of the subway, would they let the and run driverless?
  16. What I mean is like if there is a conga line into Jamaica Center, instead of holding at Sutphin, Jamaica-Van Wyick, etc, waiting for a train to leave Jamaica Center, couldn't they send a train into each stub, so that another train can enter the station?
  17. At Jamaica Center, why can't they move trains out of the way onto the stub tracks, to alleviate terminal congestion?
